Thanks ebayqueen, it's always satisfying to see things leaving the house.
I'm really annoyed this evening, bought DH's birthday present online, and it has arrived today completely crushed at one end. The seller had just wrapped it in bubble wrap and a plastic bag. The box looks a mess, and DH is a collector so the box in good condition is important. Even if he wasn't, I wouldn't want to give it to anyone as a gift as it looks awful. His birthday is at the end of the week so I don't even have time to get a new one.
I've emailed them so will have to wait and see what they say. I'm shocked that a business would use such shoddy packaging. I ordered another item online which also arrived today, and it was packaged safely and securely in a box. Needless to say it is in mint condition!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi Guys
Bit of a whistlestop post today i'm afraid.
Hi peaceandfreedom i hope you are well x
ebayqueen - hope that you managed a bit of relaxing time yesterday x
jwil - i so feel your frustration and annoyance  on your behalf - when i sell something (even an item thats not new where i still have the box) if i list it for sale with the box then to me the buyer is also buying the box so this gets packaged securely too. I am sure your OH will have a lovely day and know the effort you went to but i still understand how upseting it is and when you can't just get something else as well.
News from me ??? Still poorly, back at docs soon though. Have borrowed money from all my pots to cover the huge overpayment i accidentally made  so will be a catch up month in septemberPlans still afoot for debtfreedom 12months from now - best start thinking about putting pen to paper on this one methinks - after all every year has been - i'll be debtfree by next year
But this time i have a plan
Love to all - and fabulously its wednesday tomorrow - because its never really the next day until you've gone to bed and got up againx

Hi everyone
Have gone AWOL again, sorry about that.I really don't have a lot to report. Been doing a lot of thinking about stuff, deciding what to do for the next 20 years or so, that sort of thing.
I'm really sorry you've not been well, DDFW, hope the doc can sort you out. I know how frustrating it is to be unwell when you have stuff you want to be doing.
Jwil, keep up the good work. Think I'll join the make-£10-a-day-in-September challenge, I need a bit of a kick up the backside.
Tomatoes are ripening up nicely in the greenhouse and I have lots of nice red peppers and a ton of chillies of various sorts. Still harvesting cucumbers and still have some decent lettuce. Some of the lettuce has bolted so I will rip those out and sow some winter salad I think. Fancy some rhubarb too and this year I'm going to experiment with sowing sweet peas in the Autumn and planting them out early in the Spring. The sweet peas have been glorious for the past few weeks and the Cosmos I grew from seed have been a huge success. So have the sunflowers, a whole row of them smiling at the sun. :T
Tons to do around the house and garden. Need to get started! Can't BELIEVE it's September on Thursday! Where did the summer go, I feel rather cheated, what happened to those long hot lazy days in the garden I was looking forward to? Oh well, I suppose there's always next year and next year I'm going to be sooooo much richer!
Hope everyone has a fine Wednesday, I know I will, now I'm off to bed.0 -

Loving the debt free by next year plan, that will be fantastic! :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Good to see you again peaceandfreedom
Your garden sounds great. I also can't believe how quickly the time has gone this year. I seem to have missed the summer too.
I'm with you on the being sooo much richer next year though
Good luck with the £10 a day challenge, you can do it!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well payday has arrived, and I am determined not to make such a mess of the finances again this month.
Very short, but I'm fully aware of what needs to be in each account now, and I've made a note of it so I can remind myself.
If I can just catch up with this £1000 backlog, I will be back on track again, and have that bit extra cash. It will also mean that any extra I raise will go towards my debts, not just living. I'm determined to see if I can get there this month."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Feeling awful now. Think I'm getting a migraine. Home and bed beckons I think.
Have a good evening everyone!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi all - its september! Where has the year gone to?
Jwil - i sympathise with the migraine - hope you feel better now. I was only diagnosed as suffering from migraines recently and know how horrendous they can be ((hugs)). Good luck on catching up on the backlog of £1000 x
peaceandfreedom - lovely to have you back :T Time out thinking is definitely good. Your garden sounds amazing - also on my wishlist for my dream home is a garden big enough to have a greenhouse and some raised bedsI have been doing lots of mulling over on future plans though being ill has hampered this a bit
Would be great to hear if you pick up any ideas on raising funds from the £10 a day thread too - i;ve not found that one yet
Hi ebayqueen and retiredandskint hope you are both well
If anything i have gotten up today and actually feel worse _pale_ just got to shift this. Off to p/t work shortly so i've just got to soldier on until about 9.30pmCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

I can't believe how quickly this year is flying by. Sorry to hear you are still feeling rough DDFW.
I didn't manage to get to bed yesterday as a warning light came on on my car as I was coming home . So DH had to have a look whilst it was light, so I wound up taking the dog out. I'm still a bit headachey today but shall drink lots of water to try and clear it.
Fingers crossed DH has managed to sort the problem though and I don't wind up with a garage bill!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I just went on to buy my Euromillions ticket for tomorrow night, and needed to update my card. Before I could do that, I had to empty my account, so used the £1 in there to buy a scratch card. I won £10 :j
So that's £10 towards my challenge, woo hoo!
£55/£1000 = £945 to go."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
