  • I'm still having problems getting onto MSE during the week with my dongle  At weekends I have access to wi-fi so now have to catch up. Your diary moves on at a fast pace jwil.

Do you need to go to a private dentist or can you go to an emergency dentist. A one off treatment charge is approx £17.50. I know my OH had to over Easter and got really good treatment. Well done on the ebay and Amazon sales. You continually amaze me on the amount you list and sell. :T

I'm at an age where my memory is not so good but I think it was DDFW who was worried about her upcoming birthday. Try not to worry too much, men are not so good about the significance of presents. Take it from me and I've been married 35 years in September. My OH still gets it wrong :rotfl:

I've got a star on ebay now :j I'm still only listing one thing a week though. I'm struggling with PADding I find it hard to keep motivated when I can't get on the site every day. You'd think that at my age I'd know better.

I have a question: My cc is, as you can see by my signature, is v high. How easy is it to get a 0% cc. I've never missed a payment although I've made a couple late by a day or two at most.

Have a good weekend and I hope all your sales are good ones

I can only speak for myself and I can say I've never had a problem getting a 0% card but I have never had a late payment for anything.

However, the last time I applied, one CC provider (NatWest I think) offered me a low credit limit - less than £3000. This is presumably because of the credit currently available to me along with current credit card balances. I didn't go ahead with the application because I wanted a higher credit limit. I got a higher limit with a different provider. I could quite easily have gone ahead with both the new cards as I applied for them on the same evening.

CC providers will do a search on your credit file before deciding whether to offer you a card and what credit limit to give you - so long as you are happy with that (i.e. you are not planning to apply for any other form of credit in the next few months) then give it a go. I would say you are unlikely to be given a credit limit in the region of £12000 on a single card but you might get two 0% cards. Even if it doesn't cover all the balance, it will cover a good bit of it and you could try for another 0% in a few months to move the rest.

One word to describe that buyer Jwil

    PILLOCK :)

There are really some right ones on Ebay....

oh the perils of trying to earn a few pounds.

How are your bids going this week?

Oh ebayqueen, you are so much politer than I am :D:D

There are some real idiots on there - including another one I'm having hassle with now. I hate ebay :mad:

I've done ok this week, not great. How about you?

    Hi guys :)

jwil - grr! to the daft e-bay question  I did find it annoying last week with the mistaken e-bay bidder - forgot to mention i'm clearly far too nice ;) and said ok we'll cancel the bid after the listing ends. Cancelled it - straight after the listing ended - a week later they confirmed it  meaning i couldn't re-list it in all that time in case they then said to send it *misses the rolly-eyes smiley*

peaceandfreedom - hi hope you are good :)

e-bay queen great to hear that you had a lovely holiday :j:j:j

The ratherly good news is: -

i have squeezed the bank accounts and finally managed to make a PAD! :j
i have managed to bag me a MS which i have wanted to do for ages :j:j:j - no fee but conveniently sorts out a gift i needed to buy :D

The money for the PAD is because i have received a payment from one of the MS companies i did a fair whack of work for. Then i'm getting my next f/t wage in before some of my DD's are due - as i'm paying interest on this account its better that I PAD what i can as soon as i can ;)

Well done on managing to PAD, and getting a good MS.

Sorry your ebayer took so long to confirm, but at least they did.

    Grr to annoying connection problems!

Well done on your ebay star though retired! I do find I am less motivated when I don't come on here regularly.

I need to go private for the dentist because the NHS one told me a few years ago that the work I need doing will only be done privately. I guess I could always go for a second opinion. I think with the NHS fees it would be a couple of hundred, which would be ok as it is a fixed price - if it's private though, who knows what it will cost!

I think as peaceandfreedom says - if you are not worried about getting credit in the next few months - then go for the 0%. They can only say no. It's worth a gamble. If you need to renew a mortgage in the next couple of months though I would say wait until after.

I was so surprised when I got mine earlier this year, as previously I have been rejected. If you don't need credit in the next 6 months or so, then just go for it. Good luck!

The present thing - DH just asks me what I want and I just tell him. It's no surprise, but he prefers it that way as he knows it's ok.

    Hi Jwil

Believe me I can be very impolite when I think of some ebayers.:)

I go through stages of hating it too. I have listed my first 3 items last night. Took a break during July. Was sick looking at it. Believe it or not I missed it....how sad is that. Hope yours finish well tonight. Its hard at times but the money is good.

I am actually feeling really quite low Jwil. Haven't felt this in a while but I think I am just tired and have been eating the wrong foods over the holidays etc and I will feel better in a few days.

Take care of yourself and keep going.

    God bless

Sorry to hear you are not feeling good ebayqueen, take care of yourself and try and have some rest.

I do hate ebay, but I love it too. I hate listing, but I love the cash and the decluttering. Most ebayers are lovely, but you only remember the horrid ones. It's always good to have a break though, and I know when I do, it's such a nice feeling not to have to check it all the time.

As mentioned above, I've got another numpty ebayer. He bought some stuff from us, which after we posted sent a message saying he wanted them sent built up. (we made up the sets for photos, then took them down for posting). Knew at that point he was going to be an idiot and he's now started a case. I keep saying I'll refund on return but he's not having any of it. Hopefully paypal will say the same.

His original dispute was not as described due to them not being sent made up, then when I said I never stated they were made up or not in the description, and that when you buy them new they are not made up (and more likely to get damaged if sent made up), it now appears they are dirty, scratched and damaged (all not true as they are checked before sending).

He bought several items, so I'm guessing that will wind up being several negs. Not sure how that will affect the account, but GRRRRR :mad::mad::mad:. I'm more concerned that paypal will just refund them without asking them to return them though.
