Hi all
Jwil - i am loving your new avatar picture
peaceandfreedom - i have worked on similar issues myself. Especially when listening to one lady married to a very wealthy hubby saying how she wasn't lucky but had to work hard to achieve everything in her career - opportunites she had was due to wealth. I now just smile politely make the right noises but switch off
So, in todays onward quest for financial freedom and abundancei am sat here listing items on e-bay and not going out to the pub with OH - i've no money to go out anyways.
Right, going to list the dearer items now - it may not be the best time but i've learnt if i don't list things when i'm in the mood to do so then it doesn't happen
I also want to work on my writing this weekend but can't see me getting the time - spent the morning writing up MS and cleaning then hairdresser and the days gone so fast
I'll pop back on later hopefully with an update of how many items i've got listed - fingers crossed for lots of bids pleaseCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Read this today. A little bit airy-fairy spiritual stuff, but essentially the message is good - concentrate on what you DO want, not on what you don't want. Send out the right vibes and intentions.
And a lesson I personally need to learn is: Stop being envious of what others have (especially if they have been fortunate enough to marry the right man and have loads of money without having to do anything to earn it). You can see the envy just in the bracketed bit.
I need to concentrate on MY life and what I can do to make it better and be happy for those whose life is already very good.
Very thought provoking stuff, thanks peaceandfreedom. I think generally I'm pretty good at expecting good things to happen - DH is quite the opposite though, and that's where we clash most. There are days though where I need to be more positive, and recently I've been trying to think that I am getting wealthier by the day, rather than struggling on to clear everything.
I don't really know any wealthy people, so I've never really been envious. I do more envy people who have better money management skills than me, and who haven't got themselves into my situation
I do like the stuff about sharing more, though. I so often don't do stuff because I can't give it back. I guess it even stems down to small things like buying a round or splitting a bill evenly. It would be nice to do these things without being bitter about how much it costs or even thinking about it!
I also know that if I am ever lucky enough to win large amounts on the lottery, it would be lovely to help out those who have given me so much support and people I know are struggling."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done on the listings, fingers duly crossedI'm very much the same in that I have to be in the mood for listing otherwise it doesn't get done.

I've done pretty much nothing today
DH and I had planned that we weren't going out at all today, and were just going to crack on and get on with stuff. Then last night, our *lovely* cat saunters into the house with a live mouse, and starts playing with it  We thought it would be safer to just let her kill it as it was too risky to have it disappear in the house, but after 10 minutes, she was still playing away, so I decided to intervene. Naturally, whilst trying to catch it, it shoots off into a pile of stuff to hide. There are so many piles of stuff stacked around the house, that there are infinite areas it could go, and also plenty for it to destroy if it decided to chew stuff.
So this morning, we pulled out everything from the corner it went into, but no sign of it. So off we trudge to B&Q to get some mouse traps. Got humane ones, and some nutella to fill them with. Back home and set the traps around not having any clue where the mouse was. About an hour later, it must have come out from under one of the sofas, went into the trap and was duly set free, perfectly healthy and uninjured as far as we can see :T It was such a relief that we got it out ok, and that we weren't worrying about where it could possibly be. It also is a reminder that having stacks of stuff piled everywhere is not a sensible way to have a house!
I then spent the afternoon finishing reading One Day, and sobbing my way through it. We've taken the dog for a walk, and now settling down for the evening as X Factor's back, yay!

jwil - i am so pleased that you have had quite a chilled out day - though you could have done without the furry mouse dilemma *shudders* - i like mice but don't want one living in the house and as you say the worry of the damage it could do! Maybe this is something i need to consider before getting a cat? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
One Day - is that on the list? I've seen that its coming on at the movies.
Your picture is fab - it looks really professional - do you do photography professionally or have you studies it?
Getting back to the envy talk - cornwalli'd love to go
but its envy in a nice way
Another one settling down to tv for the evening - watching a film that we've recorded hopefully

We had one in our last house too, I assume for the same reason. When we pulled out the sofa, we found lots of little piles of dog biscuits, and it had chewed up a pair of gloves to make a bed :rotfl:

Aww, thanks, I've got no experience at all, and it's a pretty rubbish camera too! I like landscapes though, and every so often get lucky! I'd like to do a course though to see if I could get better.
Cornwall's lovely, we try and go each year for Run to the Sun. It's not far really, so I've spent lots of time there.

Hope you all had a good evening!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi all
jwil i too would love to do a photography course - like you i have been lucky enough to capture some amazing pics and then i want to do more to find out about it too
Taking my time doing things today but still hope to have completed some jobs before the end of the dayThank goodness its a long weekend coming up - though i might just have to avoid answering the phone as when people know i'm in they usually get me running round and doing things - these are the people who then say i'm doing too much  Am coming to realise more and more that i'd have alot more time, better time and more energy if everyone else just dealt with their own stuff - families eh? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Woke up with a few things settled in my mind today which was good :T and resulted in a couple more things i can list on e-bay - just got to do it nowThe thing is though the more i sort things out i realise there are things i need - stuff i've been promising myself i'd replace for a long time like a backpack so when i ahve to carry things around its not irritating my bad shoulder - and will be especially useful for when i attend the classes on my course. This has then resulted in me just having a little look on e-bay  i haven't purchased anything yet
though if i nab a bag at the right price i'm not going to worry about it - do i need it? well i could get away with carrying a bag and then carrier bags but this will be more practical and better for me
will i use it? absolutely
Will see how the day goes - best get some more things listedCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Glad to hear you are having a more relaxed day DDFW, I bet you still achieve loads more than me though!
I must get some listings done later, but the sun room is calling for an hour or so methinks.
The cat keeps wandering in the front room and sniffing about as if to say 'I'm sure I left a mouse in here somewhere...' :rotfl:
I too cannot wait til the long weekend, though I did suggest to DH this morning that it might be an idea for us to car boot each day if the weather is good!
Just spotted that my siggie says I've sold £6k's worth of stuff on ebay this year - I wish! :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well, didn't make it to the sun room, and now the sun's gone in!
I've been catching up with some small jobs that have been hanging around for ages - uploading some software to the pc, filling out some paperwork, entered a few competitions that I'd left hanging around. It's not big things, but it means some paperwork can be put away or recycled, and a few niggly things are now out of the way.
I've also taken some photos for a few bits to go on ebay later, so that's a start!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Finally got some listings done - 3 for me, and 13 for DH. I've also relisted everything that was already on there, and two of my relisted items already have bids on :j
I've sold a book on amazon, that's another £6.82 :T. I'm particularly pleased about this one, as it's one I bought at a boot sale to read for 50p:T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
