    hi

unless he/she states collection available instead of posting, then there is not a lot you can do. i have never stated collection & nor would i. it's just the way i perfer. i imagine he/she is the same

if the postage is not stated in the listing, then again there is little you can do.

i suppose you can choose not to go thru with the transaction but then you may get an unpaid item strike from ebay

People are like this, they're weird. I've had people selling £600 laptops a mile from me and they won't allow local pickup. Yeah Right!! As if I'm paying you £30 to put a £600 into the postal system you thick b'stard. In this case should it be damaged the onus would be on them anyway.

I have to disagree on that one. What if the seller was a young single female? Would you expect it reasonable to have a complete stranger come to your door to make a transaction?

The whole point of ebay having set terms in it's listings is to avoid confusion. OP you might just have to take this one as a harsh lesson!

Well I wouldn't be up for letting a winning bidder collect from me if they had an attitude like yours.

May be he doesn't want you to collect - suggest a neutral place? I've had people who live close to me , or have been in the area, asking if they could come to my home to pick up items they've purchased. My answer is always no - you never know what weirdos are out there!

I must also claim to be insulted as well. I do not allow collection unless there are very good reasons for it and it is agreed between both parties in advance. I have had problems with people collecting in the past, so no, even if they live a mile away I'll post my stuff thank you.

As for the OP, you have 2 choices, either pay up or refuse to pay, take a neg and more seriously an NPB strike which will remain permanently on your account.

For future reference, where post and packing is not stated in the auction there may well be a very good reason for it and unless you get a confirmed delivery charge, or permission to collect *before* bidding walk away.

Why be so childish, I wouldn't expect my children to do anything like that. yet alone another adult. You can only be scammed if you allow yourself to be, there was no p and p showing on the auction, the seller was not answering emails..doesn't that strike you as odd? The reason the auction finished so low was because most other would be buyers had seen it for what it was.

Why would you "presume" you can collect if it doesn't state that on the auction?
There could be a very good reason why the seller doesn't want people knocking on his / her door....and that's for them to decide on...not you!
Also...why did you bother to bid if you knew you couldn't pay as per the stated terms of the auction?

I think the seller has been very fair saying they'll wait until you sort your problems out...yet you're the one whinging!!

As for ts_aly....he / she is just an ignorant person with a foul mouth.....thank goodness ebayers ( and people generally ) like ts_aly are few and far between. What sort of inadequate suggests going round dumping rubbish in a person's garden because they've asked you to adhere to the terms of their auction??

OH !!! Hang On!!! I've just realised what sort of person would do that!!! ................ EEEwwwww!!

Isn't there something on ebay that states that postage costs may be increased provided BOTH parties agree to the postage costs ?
In this case I'd state that unless I could pick-up clothes I wouldn't want them - it seems an awful lot for postage costs and a little bit silly to post something when you're less than a mile away from them. Tell the seller to offer them to someone else under second-chance offer, explaining your reasons for this.

....and quite rightly get a neg and more worryingly a non paying bidder strike.

If the auction has no p and p shown but suggests you ask for that info, then the seller does not respond...would you bid?

As for increasing postage posts, note the word 'increase' there was nothing actually shown on the original auction. Anyway, even if a buyer refuses to accept an increase in p and p costs they still have a big fight trying to stop a NPB strike.
