Hi everyone two dmp payments in with cccs and everything is surprisingly quiet everyone of my lovely creditors seem to be on board.
We have heard back officaly form all but one, littlewoods catalogue. But they seem to be happy with the dmp payment as they are our largest creditor and only getting a 100 less of what they normally do!
Preparing for Dmp i was very guilty...now payday is a pleasure now its so nice to able to breathe again and do other things during the month other than eat and survive!!0 -

Once the process started and we began filling in the paperwork and gathering everything up then yes, it was a bit of a rollercoaster - we had days when we felt really more in control and empowered and other days where we beat ourselves up and felt like complete failures. Once the letters to the creditors went out (from us with tiny interim payments) we felt kind of guilty but more in control. When the DMP actually kicked in and the first payment went out, by this time we'd heard back from quite a few creditors by letter and phone, and most were absolutely fine, some were even really pleasant, friendly and helpful, then the rollercoaster feeling calmed right down. Quite quickly we felt absolutely relieved, we know what we need to live on and that the creditors are getting their payments through CCCS, this makes us feel more in control, happier and less stressed than we have been for years.
There is also the small point of NOT racking up any more in the meantime. How many times I paid off cards just to do it all over again, I dread to think!
Hope we all have that Friday feeling soon!!

Not been on for a week as my husband decided to walk out on us on Monday..long story..
but with regards to the DMP.its been two weeks now since payplan received my paperwork, but not heard a dicky bird from them.should I chase this up?
On the good side no more phone calls from LLoyds TSB at the mo and just received an arrears letter from them in the post
I'm so sorry. That is just about all you need. I would trust PP to do their work, but by all means a call to them may put your mind at rest when you plainly have enough to think about.
We are all here.

Hello, all. Hope you're all keeping well. I've not been having a great time of things at the moment. My two months grace seems to have whizzed by without my doing anything productive. My first DMP payment goes out on 1st... I checked my balance with Wonga and it looks like they've started charging again which isn't great news. Things still feel really messy, tbh. Am going to have a sit down tonight and make a list of what's outstanding and maybe do some prioritising but I seem to have lost some of my initial enthusiasm and drive. Anyone else get this??
Hi Sara, I think that dragging feeling goes with the stress early on, I agree with HH, think forward. Mine was putting together a scrappy old folder that someone in work was going to bin! I put a picture I downloaded of wads of money on the front, and each time a statement came I wrote a little note on, to say
1) What my original credit limit was,
2) How much the original highest amount was (a lot more than 1) above
3) What the new balance is.
This might seem crazy, but my recent Mint bill (£54 pm) recently showed that I've now broken the first £1,000 paid off!!!
So, go girl, and show dem creditors what you're made of!

Hi everyone, ive not posted on here much but i have read all the thread and find the information and support excellent. Me and DH are just starting our DMP with CCCS. The first payment is due to go out on the 1st of April and we are begining to feel much better about things. We have had very few phone calls from creditors and have today recieved acceptance letters from MBNA (both mine and DH accounts). They are also freezing all interest and further charges yippee !!!! Just got to get 9 more creditors on board. Just wanted to post this to show our appreciation to all on this forum as i dont think we would have done it without reading other peoples experiences. I know we have a long way to go yet but just wanted to say a big THANK YOU
:):)

Thanks for the encouragement, folks. Am getting letters from my creditors telling me I've missed a payment. Is it worth ringing them all up just to check they have the DMP details?
Thanks0 -
I cant explain how much better it feels to pay on my debt card (with no overdraught) than on my credit card. Everytime I hear someone I know is struggling like we were I just want to tell them that DMP is the way forward ... but its so hard without revealing that we are on one ( I dont want others knowing my business) and I always think that if I bang on about it they will guess!0

Why not just say that you'd heard that DMPs are an option? And recommend one of the charities?DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

The letters are standard fair at the start. I tended to phone my creditors (and still do), but it can be difficult to get through to the correct dept. The debt collection ones seem to know what's going on, so perhaps ring them and mention the DMP to them. If they still have no record, simply get CCCS or PP to resend. Of course if you're doing it yourself, then you can resend the details!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
