    Hi all
My partner and i are currently in a lot of debt and we were trying to pay it back and were doing not so bad but things are now getting worse with the cost of petrol and shopping constantly rising and now MBNA wanting to more than double our min payment meaning most of the extra we were paying off our higher debt will now have to go towards that (we have just over £16000 on mbna but as this is LOB @ 6.5% its one of our lowest aprs) we are now looking at probably having to do DMP although it will be with either CCCS or Payplan i do have a couple of questions id like to ask

    1. What stuff will i need to send to cccs or payplan?

    2. My son currently goes to an afterschool club i pay weekly for the days hes attending but when i tell either cccs or payplan what evidence do i need to show, will i need to keep the recipts from paying or should i ask the manager for a monthly invoice?

    3. Also i have paperless billing for my utilities do i need to get them to send me out a paper bill?

Im sure im going to have many more question just trying to sort as much as i can out while im on holiday from work.

thank you for all your help

    Hi

We're the same situation as you only a few months ahead. Me and my husband have got a lot of debt and we've just entered into a DMP. Our first payment went out on the 1st March :D

    In answer to your questions:

    1) We had to send CCCS copies of our last payslips (to prove our income) and the most recent statements of all our debts. We didn't have some statements (some things were online paperless statements) so in this circumstance we took screen prints of the account summaries.

    2) IIRC there's a bit in the budget for school trips/activities. We've got money in the budget for trips and don't have to provide any proof.

    3) See answer in (1), I just tooke screen prints and wrote on the screen print I had paperless billing.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the DMP thread. I'm a newbie here and have received nothing but good advice and a very warm reception :T

We also didn't send any of our utility bills in either. If amount seems high they ask you to justify it.

Sorry, it's not clear in my post but what this poster said is true for us too. We didn't have to send in any utility bills, just input the monthly amounts.

I just took screen shots of my actual cc debt.

We are with CCCS and we only had to send our latest credit card statements. We completed debt remedy online and did everything by email. Best decision we've ever made

Thanks for your full and informative answer
To be honest, sometimes it seems so long ago now I struggle to remember what I had to send at start-up. :o So it's refreshing to have a reminder from someone closer to the starting post!
Thx 4 yr thx too :)
Hopefully we all (old or new) help to support each other-and it's free! :D

good luck to all new starters this thread is an excellent help and continues to be so to me

thanks eye opener one thing i have become good at i feel is strongly worded letters!

    thanks again
  • Good luck and welcome to all the newbies, it's sad how many of us there are though...
  • I just wanted to add my thanks to everyone who posts on here and is providing such support.

I have felt so stressed about this DMP process but, knowing other people are setting out at the same time, that others are 6 months down the line and feeling much better and that others have nearly finished - it is all so very reassuring and makes it a little (weeny) bit less daunting.

I am waiting for a Loan Statement to send with my CCCS documents and DD Mandate, what will happen after that? I have tried to be proactive and moved all my Credit Card DD's to the end of the month, which is when CCCS will pay them. I am hoping this may reduce the phonecalls initially - but maybe I am just delusional.....

I think I will be here for some time to come so looking forward to getting to know you all!!

We sent off our letters to cc companies with our token payment. So far we have received only 3 phonecalls. Santander phoned twice but apologised because our no. hadn't been taken off their system. That was over two weeks ago. The other was M and S who were lovely. I took advice from some of the other members on this forum and answered the phone. It was the right thing for us because it stopped any more calls. The only other contact we've had are arrears letters or default notices.
