Egg seemed to have stopped interest and charges on our cc. When Barclays take over this account is this agreement still likely to apply or can they start adding interest and charges again?0

They could if they chose to........
Don't mean to be a 'party-pooper' but a DMP is a rolling agreement and can (and does) change throughout it's term.
Hopefully Barclay will see the logic of letting you honour your repayments to the best of your ability, and will let you continue with no charges.
Nevertheless, don't worry and sleep well tonight (even if it is an hour short!) You're heading in the right direction

Well done you. :A
My marriage broke up years ago when my son was pre-teen (not in such abrupt circumstances as yours though.) Although not on a DMP money was ruddy tight but we managed. He has grown into a wonderful man and I am proud of him.
Your children might want and yearn for the latest i-pods, mobiles etc.etc but it won't make them more rounded individuals.
Right now they need to know they are loved and supported by you both. And they will grow into full mature adults who appreciate the value of money.
Keep strong - you're doing great

Hi all,
Just wanted to say hi I have been lurking for a while. I am starting my DMP with CCCS on 1st April - spured on my the posts on here. With charges and interest im £24k in debt, with a estimated DFD of April 2019 - hoping to reduce that significantly.
Good news is my first payment has not even come out yet and I have has letters from Virgin CC (MBNA) and Marbles, both stopping charges and interest, so that is a good start. 4 more creditors to go.
Anyway - thanks for posting on here, I have been looking everyday for a while (im sure Im not the only one) so appreciate all the info,

Hello to you
And what a fabulous start date to have - April Fools Day!!!
Well you for sure aren't one of them! Keep that in mind if the road should prove a wee bit rocky at startup.

Hi,I have been on my new DMP now for 2 months and just by reading this I have realised that quite a few companies we are with have not stopped the interest payments.
I am very new to all this and not very money-savvy (hence the mess we are in!) and I didn't realise that I need to check new statements from my creditors for added interest!!
I have to say, I am a lot happier and I finally sleep at night now knowing that the hundreds of phone calls from collection agencies have stopped and that I am in control of what happens. :T
I do worry about the mortgage though. Although I know I will never get a credit card/loan ever again, we will want to think about re-mortgaging the house in the future to get a better deal.
Does the 6 year on file mean that after the DMP is paid, we will have to wait another 6 years or will our credit file be clear as soon as it is all paid off?
I am really confused about this bit!0
