    Hi Everyone

I am a new poster but have been following the threads

I have been on a dmp with payplan for 1 year which has had its ups and downs
I have 8 creditors and out of all of them I only receive monthly statements from one creditor is it normal practice for a creditor not to send out monthly statements once you have entered a dmp? its just I notice that payplan balances on justabank are always different to the statements and I would like to keep a track of this if I can. Can you write to the creditor asking to send monthly statements?

    any advice welcome

    Monlou

I think they're only duty bound to send you a statement once or twice a year. The balances will be different as PayPlan only have the amounts from when you first started the DMP, and it doesn't take into account any interest or charges that have been added in the meantime.

You could either ask your creditors to send you an up to date statement, or check out your credit report, which should show you an up to date balance.

  • Has anyone had any luck getting bank account intrest lowered or even stopped? we have a current account with the halifax with an overdraught of £5300 and one with lloyds for £2000, they are charging over £100 a month in intrest between them. Our lloyds and halifax credit cards have both frozen intrest though! I have rang the Halifax but they say they cant do anything about it.

    Morning all :-)

Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

Sorry I can't offer advice to anyone yet, as I'm still in the process of setting up my DMP but hopefully i'll learn a few things along the way.

I've just had ANOTHER call from Gregory Pennington. I think it's about the 30-ish something time so I answered - told him that I'm going
with the CCCS as they are free........ halfway through my sentence, he just hung up!!!! Cheeky s*d!!

So todays lesson learnt - stay away from companies that charge!

Halifax are lying to you - they've frozen the % and charges on my 5k OD. I think I dealt with the collections dept maybe - they were really helpful (so far anyhow). I think a lot of this boils down to who you speak to - the collections lot tend to be more helpful and understanding imo.

My ODs took around 6 months to stop adding charges and interest.

    Afternoon all.

Just a quick rant. I have seen today on the news that the man from Barclays has had a 6 million plus reward. I wonder how many people on this forum the money could clear their debt? I think about 300 people what a life changing amount of money for one person or how about 300?

Mine only stopped once passed onto DCAs, which took approx 6 months.

  • Hi everyone. We are just starting on a DMP with CCCS. We have returned everything to them, sent all creditors a letter advising them of DMP and made token payments. I have also opened a new bank account and cancelled all direct debits with old bank account. We are know waiting to hear from CCCS. The phone calls from creditors has already started but i have not been answering the phone as i dont feel like i can face them. Is this okay or would i be better off speaking to them? :(
