That will help kickstart my "emergency fund" that has taken such a battering this month!Shellshock  or Nik now the shock has subsided!!DMP March 11Savings account opened Jan 11 £10£1 coin savings tin - £22Total Debt [STRIKE]Jan £31,519.87[/STRIKE]!!!:( March [STRIKE]£30,879[/STRIKE] April £30,202DMP Member 4020 -
Hi all, not posted for a while. Have made two payments to Payplan so far and everything strangely quiet on the creditor front. Had 3 defaults but I know it's best to get them in early stages so not worried. Had a statement from
m & s credit card. They've charged £20 interest, is it worth sending the please stop interest letter? Apart from that, everything ok. I've had a few social invitations this month and have had to turn most down what with paying out car tax etc, but saying 'no' gets easier!Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
Well finally got a statement from lloyds cc today. They seem to be accepting DMP as interest has been reduced a lot and we've had no fees added. Going by what I've read oh here I'm taking this as good news.:j0

Hi everyone, i'm a newbie in need of a little DMP advice - so please be gentle.
I'm in the process of getting my DMP with CCCS all set up, but i just wanted to check afew things:
It says i need to contact my creditors with the template letter - (my creditors being Natwest, Barclaycard and Tesco) is there a certain department i need to send the letter to? Natwest i have a loan, overdraft, and credit cards with so do i need to send three letters to each relevant department or will just one to natwest do?
Also my natwest loan repayments come out of my current account automatically each month - once Natwest are informed about the DMP will the direct debit automatically be cancelled to be replaced with the DMP payment? Or should I have to cancel the payment some how?
Hope these arent too silly questions - I'm just not the smartest person when it comes to these things!
Thanks for any advice!0 -
We sent template letters to all our creditors even though some are with the same company. We used the address on statements and sent letters there. You will have to cancel all your direct debits or they will continue to take money out. Hope this helps.0

Hi, we too are just starting on a DMP with CCCS. I too was confused about where to send the letters. In the end i just sent them to the addresses on the statements. We have three debts with santander and i sent them individual letters. Dont know if this was right as we are still wating for replys. Hope this helps and good luck0 -

Unfortunately if you have a loan with the your bank, then they can use offsetting to continue to take the loan payment from your account.
Have you setup a new basic bank account to pay your wages and transfer your direct debits over to? This needs to be with a bank with whom you have no ties.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430
