Have already started receiving nasty letters from my creditors and am very concerned about the position of my bank account with the DMP as I changed to a safe account as they are also one of my creditors. Im charged £25 a month for the acc and this month the charge took me overdrawn as I have stopped all monies going in there. They have written to me to tell me they are charging me £10 for every day Im overdrawn? Will they agree to freeze this? or will I have to cover the charges and put £25 a month into the acc every month?
My bank was also very nasty towards our DMP and trying to work with the CCCS, they defaulted me straight away, which i would rather actually as i was paying them about £120 A MONTH! on charges  i also changed my account from a premier (£25 month charge) to a basic one again before telling them about my DMP, so i didn't have to pay that charge. Morning all. Been on a DMP with CCCS for nearly 2 years now and have been managing reasonably okay. We all know it's tough! Recent weeks though have seen some creditors start to get narky again. Most of our debts have been passed to DCAs and now they are starting to pass them on to solicitors. We have always paid our DMP on time and always informed CCCS of any debts passed on etc. One creditor has just issued me with court papers for a CCJ if I don't pay up and won't accept the payment offered by CCCS
I have written to them and sent copies of budget but they are not interested. So now going to end up with a CCJ for a £500 debt!
Another creditor has said our original payment was £10 -£15 a month which was what we agreed to while we waited for the debt to be added to DMP and now says it has noticed we are paying a lot more than this a month :rotfl: This is because they are one of the biggest debts so pro rata CCCS give them more. They obviously now think we have loads of money and have offered a 50% settlement or need to make a payment arrangement  They already have a payment arrangement!
A lot of our debt is from a failed business (sole trader) and other from the usual credit cards etc.
I just feel like I'm drowning - so much to sort out all the time I can't think straight. I am trying to complete my degree but my work is suffering, my marriage is suffering because we are under pressure all the time. We have no money for emergencies so when cars break down etc it's major - we live semi rural so need cars to get anywhere as we both have to commute to our nearest city. Costing us a fortune in petrol etc etc.
For some reason my money hasn't lasted at all this term and I can't work out why. I get my student finance 3 times a year and have to spread it out. I also work part time as well as full time study. House is in negative equity and are struggling to pay mortgage and my worry is if we review the DMP, creditors will get less then they will all start taking us to court and we end up with about 20 CCJs
Just don't know what to do any more I hate this house cos it's such a burden - feel like just handing the keys back at the moment. We need to move closer to the city so we can give up 1 car at least. We just have no life. We are trying to be responsible and it's all just pants. Can anyone help me see a way through? Please?DMP Mutual Support Thread Member 3000 -

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time of it, not sure what to suggest, have you spoken to the DCAs to make another arrangement? I have received letters from them in the past saying my arrangement's coming to an end, so I phone them up and they seemed quite happy to carry on.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Ive just checked my old bank account and despite cancelling the loan direct debit (also held with them), the gits are still transferring the money out! leaving me overdrawn now by £300. They have written to me informing me that they will continue to charge me £10 per day for each day Im overdrawn, will the DMP stop this? otherwise within a few months I will owe my bank thousands, seems theyve decided to use the setting off rule, despite there being no money in thereDMP Mutual Support Thread Member 416

Again this is par for the course. If you have a loan with the bank they will use off setting. Have you spoken to the bank explaining your position to see if they will stop charges?
Think it took around 6 months for both my bank accounts to stop adding interest and/or charges.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Yes I did speak to them. They were not interested and the loan collections dept of the bank is based abroad and when I rang them to explain why I had cancelled the direct dept, the guy on the phone just kept repeating "Please give your new bank details" so I gave up. I have the hold action template letter which I will be sending to all my creditors inc my banksDMP Mutual Support Thread Member 416

Thanks to all for your birthday greetings! :A
Chancer63 - Wish I could wave a magic wand (or even offer good advice) to make it better and make it all go away. But I can't, so I'm giving you a big supportive hug :grouphug:. Don't let the b*st*rds grind you down! You've come so far. Please don't let your marriage suffer-you need each other more than ever at this time. This is a difficult time for you - studying, working, coping with financial troubles, running a home and giving time to your partner. No wonder you feel down and overwhelmed. Take one day, one problem at a time and in the future all this will be history.
And as to nit-picking, penny-pinching financial institutions - received a letter recently from the pensions people regarding my mother who died recently. Apparently she died at an inconvenient time, owes them for 4 days and needs to re-pay! Can't believe the insensitivity of the demand
Yea - come try collect

Hi Everyone
I am a new poster but have been following the threads
I have been on a dmp with payplan for 1 year which has had its ups and downs
I have 8 creditors and out of all of them I only receive monthly statements from one creditor is it normal practice for a creditor not to send out monthly statements once you have entered a dmp? its just I notice that payplan balances on justabank are always different to the statements and I would like to keep a track of this if I can. Can you write to the creditor asking to send monthly statements?
any advice welcome
