It's Friday - Happy Weekend to all on a DMP! (apologies if you are working :()
A big welcome to all who have just started or are approaching their plan. Lot of good advice to be found here :)
It might not seem like it now at the start (when everything is so unsettled) but it's a fantastic feeling to see your debt reduce - makes all the effort worthwhile.
My total has just clicked down into the next thousand marker. Such a huge boost, as my repayment level is not high.
It's my birthday this weekend as well - so sending you all a slice of virtual cake.......
    :bdaycake:
Life would be good (yes, it can be even on a DMP) if I didn't have to work till I'm 156 years old :()

Thanks Twitty. I;m looking forward to the drop into the next thousand. Hopefully you won't have to work quite so long.

I've been having a bit of a battle with CFO - it has just got very interesting! They seem intent in sending inaccurate or inappropriate information. You really have to keep a close eye on these people - I have a thread on it 'Who do I complain to?'. I will keep updating as I find out more and more.

Just out of curiousity, are you doing it with Gregory & Pennington? If so there are a couple of free companies you can use?

It's quite shocking isn't it when those supposed to be helping and advising are harrasing to this extent isn't it?
Those with debt problems are most vulnerable at this time, and don't need this hard sell approach. :(
Thanks for your advice. As with anything in life, it's always worth gathering as much information as possible, before making the best decision.

    Hello everyone

Hope you are all well - weekend has arrived and have got some free tickets to take my little girl to the local sealife centre - hope weather will hold!

The second payment of my DMP has come out - all going ok - one creditor threatening the courts (CCCs say not to worry but looking at other posts on other forums I think this is the route the creditor goes down) and Lloyds, who had originally agreed to the DMP now backtracking and also a-threatening.

Makes me feel quite sick, but guess nothing I can do other than keep paying my DMP and see what happens.

    Hard not to worry though!

Superbiatch & sickasachip - thanks! I'm strangely excited and very relieved :j

Ianmak - yes, it was Gregory & Pennington. I only visited the site because I wanted to see if all these companies suggested the same route for me to take. I shouldn't have put my number in, because literally, within two minutes they were calling me!

The first time I answered the phone and as soon as they told me about the fees I hung up. I've planned to go with CCCS all along because paying them fees and a start up fee (which would have been £425!!!) is pretty pants when you want all of your money to go towards debt

Fluffed, CCCs are a really good path to go down.

My total debt is similar to yours, and I can now finally see light at the end of the tunnel - there may be a few obstacles in the way on the debt free journey but we'll get there! :)

Happy Birthday Twitty and thanks for the virtual cake (at least it doesn't go straight to the hips!!). And thanks for the advice :-)

Cuppatea honestly try not to worry, the creditors are really mardy at first, then they realise that you're doing what you can, it's not a try on, and tend (by and large) to accept what you're offering. Also, it's not the end of the world if it does go to a DCA - we're dealing with two now and they are much easier to deal with than the original creditors and there are no charges or % going on. They also both accepted the DMP without query.

Just a general question!!! How long does it take to get defaults and what ratio of creditors have defaulted you... all or none etc
