    Hey all

Had a letter from HSBC last week offering us a Money Management Loan with them. Basically it's a loan to cover the debt we have with them (credit card and overdraft). I'm not going to take it as I want to be in a position to make full and finals in a few years but do I need to write back to HSBC to tell them or let the CCCS know?

    Cheers x

    Hi there

We had the same from HSBC. We chose to ignore it and didn't bother letting CCCS know. They sent the same letter 2 or 3 times before giving up.

  • Hello everyone

I'm back from my hols and feeling optimistic but very very broke  I have managed to already blow my budget this month in getting home from the airport as I was naught and got a taxi back to the house (I had been up for almost 30 hours!) and had to get some meds form the pharmaist as I broke out in hives the day after I got home  could have been worse as it could have happened on holiday. I then forgot to fact this in and spent my entire grocery budget to restock! drat. Oh well I do have some MS money I can use to rebalance this and get back on track.

I actually came home to a nice letter from HSBC saying that they have received the stuff from CCCS will be accepting the payments and FREEZING THE INTEREST!! wow my first nice letter though this is after they said that they wouldn't deal with CCCS cause I hadn't signed my letter to them. My first payment went to CCCS today so I'm on my way. :T

I hope everyone is going to have a good weekend. Its my birthday on Sunday so I have just treated myself to two river cottage books using Amazon vouchers courtesy of Sony music, and I'm going to the pub to night AND Sunday to celebrate. Naughty but paid for by my MSing :D

    Happy Friday everyone

  • Well I phoned Business Debtline today who confirmed my paperwork has been received and is being passed to Payplan.

LLoyds TSB have passed both my loan and CC over to their collections dept, I have spoken to both on the phone and advised of the situation. They were fine but said they could only hold off phone calls for seven days so I quoted the following as advised by Business debtline (I was advised to keep this written down and handy if speaking to creditors on the phone)
"As per section 9, of the banking code I am verbally asking you to cease all future phonecalls, attempts at contacting me by phone as I am verbally requesting you contact me in future by writing. Failure to honor this request will mean that I will escalate this to a formal complaint against (insert name of creditor)." She put me on hold and then came back and said, they would not contact me by phone again and my number would be removed from the database. Fingers crossed

Hi Twitty, can I add a belated Birthday Greeting! Hope you had a lovely weekend to celebrate.
How awful to receive that letter about your Mum. I know they are usually computer generated but you would think common decency and sense would prevail at some point!
I'm having a mini - mare with Sainsburys Visa again. Cheeky beggars have added on reduced interest backdated from Dec 2010 as well as Feb 2011, a total of £72. I've asked Payplan to look into it for me, as they had some success last year, but the bottom line is, we are now into 18 months of this DMP, and my total with Sainsburys has only gone down £140, despite paying £53 a month. No wonder they can shell out huge bonuses!

Hope everyone is OK and coping!

    Thanks TF!
We had a money-saving style day but it was great. :)
Just a bit overshadowed because it's only today my Mum's ashes have been laid to rest in my Dad's grave. Glad she is home now.
As to Sainsburys - what a nightmare for you! Is there a dent in one of your walls where you keep banging your head? :(
You know I'm not an expert but are there any cages you can rattle?
I would be writing to the Chairman, ombudsman, local MP etc outlining your commitment and repayment totals against the minute drop in your debt.
I'm afraid in the very near future they may be many more of us struggling to fulfill our obligations. I hope we won't become a 'have;have-not' society - so go bite and become such a pain you wear 'em down :D

    Don't get me started!
As a 'mature' female I've already seen my goal posts moved back not once, but twice, with very little notice.
So I will ZIP my mouth and just wish everyone a good weekend instead :D
