    Morning!

Well my "quiet" day soon went wrong! Got a letter yesterday from LloydsTSN telling me that they are going to take charges of £85 on 1st April! Great! They have already accepted my DMP so it seems crazy to keep charging me like that? I'm already over my overdraft limit!!

Common sense does not seem to prevail with these people!
Shellshock  or Nik now the shock has subsided!!

    Hey all

Had a letter from HSBC last week offering us a Money Management Loan with them. Basically it's a loan to cover the debt we have with them (credit card and overdraft). I'm not going to take it as I want to be in a position to make full and finals in a few years but do I need to write back to HSBC to tell them or let the CCCS know?

    Cheers x

Hi everyone, i'm a newbie in need of a little DMP advice - so please be gentle.

I'm in the process of getting my DMP with CCCS all set up, but i just wanted to check afew things:

It says i need to contact my creditors with the template letter - (my creditors being Natwest, Barclaycard and Tesco) is there a certain department i need to send the letter to? Natwest i have a loan, overdraft, and credit cards with so do i need to send three letters to each relevant department or will just one to natwest do?

Also my natwest loan repayments come out of my current account automatically each month - once Natwest are informed about the DMP will the direct debit automatically be cancelled to be replaced with the DMP payment? Or should I have to cancel the payment some how?

Hope these arent too silly questions - I'm just not the smartest person when it comes to these things!

    Thanks for any advice!

We also sent the letters to the addresses on the statements.

As for DD or the NatWest loan, move your account elsewhere otherwise they will still continue to take the loan payment. You need a current account away from your debts to get your wages paid into and all your priority direct debits to go from.

Well, ten days since I sent my letters and still no word on acceptances or declines.

Getting plenty of phone calls but have decided not to answer them and letters from creditors saying we are late paying them.

I have standing orders and payments set up for payday to send DMP payment to all our creditors;)

I have been reading Nationwide are particularly bad - got cc and overdraft with them

I had a OD with Nationwide, they took 6 months to stop charges and interest. Their DCAs (Moorcroft & KPR) can be difficult too...

If it helps, I have my mortgage with Nationwide and the two have been kept completely seperate, which is a relief!

Thanks to all for your birthday greetings! :A

Chancer63 - Wish I could wave a magic wand (or even offer good advice) to make it better and make it all go away. But I can't, so I'm giving you a big supportive hug :grouphug:. Don't let the b*st*rds grind you down! You've come so far. Please don't let your marriage suffer-you need each other more than ever at this time. This is a difficult time for you - studying, working, coping with financial troubles, running a home and giving time to your partner. No wonder you feel down and overwhelmed. Take one day, one problem at a time and in the future all this will be history. :)

And as to nit-picking, penny-pinching financial institutions - received a letter recently from the pensions people regarding my mother who died recently. Apparently she died at an inconvenient time, owes them for 4 days and needs to re-pay! Can't believe the insensitivity of the demand
Yea - come try collect :D

Hi Twitty, can I add a belated Birthday Greeting! Hope you had a lovely weekend to celebrate.
How awful to receive that letter about your Mum. I know they are usually computer generated but you would think common decency and sense would prevail at some point!
I'm having a mini - mare with Sainsburys Visa again. Cheeky beggars have added on reduced interest backdated from Dec 2010 as well as Feb 2011, a total of £72. I've asked Payplan to look into it for me, as they had some success last year, but the bottom line is, we are now into 18 months of this DMP, and my total with Sainsburys has only gone down £140, despite paying £53 a month. No wonder they can shell out huge bonuses!

Hope everyone is OK and coping!

We paid a token payment to two of our creditors before we sent the letters out and there was no problem.

Be careful if you're paying by switch as I guess they could keep your card details and take more money out in the future.

I'm sure they wouldn't, but someone please advise otherwise!
