Apologies if i'm in wrong bit but after advice for my FIL. He has filled in a expenditure form through CCCS who advised him to write to his creditors offering token payment. He has doen this and tesco credit card have written back saying they can't offer anything as he didnt sign the letter. They have included a letter asking for his signature. Anyone any advice on why they would do that?? Does he have to sign it?
thanks in anticipation
The popular view is that you don't sign letters, as some unscrupulous creditors may copy the signature to paste into an unsigned (and so unenforceable) credit agreement.
You could print the signature instead in block caps for example.

Hi All
Not been around for a couple of weeks. I have been locked in the darkest hell-hole possible - Primark on a Saturday afternoon
Only joking!Too much work, e-bay, etc, etc and then Christmas is coming.....
Has anyone else with CCCS had a peep at the new updated web-site? Very impressive. Loads of your own personal stuff, budget etc set out nice and clearly + all the usual backup info.
Not had time to catch up properly with all messages, but I see lots of questions. Welcome to those just starting out.
And thanks Ian - you're a veritable one man DMP band!

Well, someone's gotta step in when you're not around!
And funny about a new CCCS website, PayPlan keep hinting at their own revamp. Think it goes ahead in a couple of weeks...DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

The cccs site looks good. Only prob for me is I can't seem to find anywhere that details that my standing order payment has been made. It may just be something I have missed though.

I'm glad it isn't just me who couldn't find that part of the site to, It's a pain not being able to check that your standing order has arrived safetly.
Also when choosing the option to print a list of your creditors you now have to print a list of all your recent payments to that creditor, which involves quite a lot of paper if you have a lot of creditors
The rest of the site is brilliant though and very user friendly.DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -
Quick question... I spoke to CCCS on Thursday and they said they will get the plan set up for me now. Does anyone know how long it normally takes before they take the first payment etc..?0

I spoke to CCCS this am and my plan was activated yesterday and 1st payment is due 1st dec (although as i filled direct debit form in wrong i have to pay my 1st installment by transcash which has to be in by the 10th) i should also get welcome pack in post today or tomorrow.

The postman has just been and delivered the welcome pack! It says that the plan starts on the 1st December and we sent a DD form to them a while ago so hoping they'll take it by DD tomorrow. What a weight off my mind to know its all being sorted. Not sure what happens next, I guess we just have to wait and see what the creditors do next.0
