    Well,

Its come around to my monthly update again! They seem to have got closer together during the second hald of the year, even though this isn't of course true.

"Touch wood", things continue to plod along nicely and I have now paid off over 20%, not quite going to hit the 10K mark which I'm a bit upset about but if I hadn't started the DMP I would still be going around in circles and not paying anything off:eek:

I have now reached another milestone in that another cc is now being paid above min payments so I will just have to see how that ones pans out. As I am still in a little scuffle with Hellifax who do not consider me to be in financial difficulty because I am making above min payments, if only. Don't they realise they are not the only bank in the world. I try and send a letter every couple of months with my outstading balances and keep hoping for a break through.

Think thats enough from me, for those just starting out ride the initial storm, it is worth it.

    Hello All

I haven't posted for a while, I've been really busy.

I just wanted to let any other newbies know that I had a review of my DMP with CCCS the other week. The guy I spoke to said it was just routine to check over the figures if you set your DMP up over the internet. Everything was fine, I even managed to increase my monthly payment by £1 lol.

I'm hoping to try to save a little bit of money so that I can make at least one extra payment on my car finance. If I do a voluntary termination then if I stick to normal payments it will be December next year. The thing is the car tax runs out on 30/11/2011 and I don't want to have to put 6 months tax on it unnecessarily so I thought if I give them plenty of notice and overpay as much as I can then I can get rid of it early and free up £220 a month to put to my DMP.

My mobile contract should be up in Feb/March 2011 as well and I did tell cccs about this and he made a note on the system so that's another £20 extra for my debts.

If there is anyone out there reading this thread considering starting a DMP then I would say do it! All the stress has gone!

I was fully expecting this but was hoping that I might get away without this many defaults - esp seeing as MBNA accepted so quickly. I think its just getting them all at once.

Well put it this way, better now, than to receive a default 5 years down the line!

Hi Everyone just thought Id say Hi
We are just starting out on our DF journey after getting in touch with CCCS:j and being advised to start a DMP I have a few questions but will post them seperatly
  • welcome tired mum. fire away with your questions, they're a helpful bunch round here x
  • Morning All

Mrs A- do you know you can claim car tax back if you no longer keep the car so if ytou have three months left you just apply to DVLA, don't forget to take the sticker out the car though!

Welcome Mum, hope your set up goes well, as NB says ask away, we all know how daunting it can seem.

  • hi all again

    yet another question im afraid

its been two and a half weeks now and there ares till two creditors who havent even replied to my original letter, what would be best advice of dealing with these creditors now?

    thanks
  • Good morning all, just a quick question, I have recently started a DMP with CCCS, making token payments for 6 months due to severe income shock. my main creditors are LloydsTSB, they have accepted the terms for my loan, but have not accepted payment proposal for my 2 overdrafts, as the accounts are currently within their limit. With interest charges, one will go over its limit by the end of the month.
I cannot afford to pay more than I am at the moment, will they just sell the debt to their debt collecting service at some stage, and can both overdrafts then be included in the DMP?

    Thanks

Well, continue to pay the amount you have worked out to each creditor, each month, and maybe send another letter to the creditor (or the same if you wanted), asking them to acknowledge your situation.

Would they have phoned you already by any chance, and you haven't recognised the number?
