The postman has just been and delivered the welcome pack! It says that the plan starts on the 1st December and we sent a DD form to them a while ago so hoping they'll take it by DD tomorrow. What a weight off my mind to know its all being sorted. Not sure what happens next, I guess we just have to wait and see what the creditors do next.
Yes i feel relieved that it's now being sorted and am trying to be positive but as you say all we can do is sit back and see what happens.
Good luck x0 -
Hi y'all, just checking in - dont get time to post much but i do manage to keep up with the thread on my phone (in the most unlikley of places)
Anyways, not much happening with me - 1st payment gone, most of my 8 creditors have accepted and got a letter from Halifax regarding the 5K o/d - they accept the offer and will freeze all interest and charges (as they have done with both CC's)
Anyway, off to swimming club with the girls now - should be interesting as we live up a really steep hill and its sheet ice!, but on the bright side i'm well insured

Hi All
Just popping in to say hello and see how things are going.
DMP is starting to get into a little rhythm of its own now though a couple of creditors are still being real *%$£%'s!
Had a minor setback last week too as car broke down resulting in a £550 repair bill.
However, being positive, 6 months ago I wouldn't have been able to afford to meet such an expensive bill so I take some heart from this. Its a good thing that in my I/E sheet I had budgeted for emergencies and car repairs which covered a large proportion of the bill as I have been putting this money aside for its purpose!!
I'm actually looking forward to Christmas this year. Although its still going to be a low key event in terms of money spent I really do not mind and it will be great just to have some more time with the family.
Kids are all having one small present each and DW and I are making gifts for each other as opposed to buying something.
Hope you're all well! Don't let your creditors get you down!

Had 1st and 2nd statement through today as 2 weeks ago i didnt pay full minimum payment so on one have a £12 late payment fee (payment wasnt late at all just not the full amount) and a £12 overlimit fee. So £24 of charges from Vanquis so far, these had originally accepted reduce payments for 2 months of £21 ? so not sure whathas happened there. Will send them a letter with a copy of the letter they sent me.
and £12 overlimit fee from natwest.
Do i just continue to pay reduced/ token payments until my dd is set up through cccs ?
What is a reasonable token payment ?

SnV enjoy your thrifty Christmas and making items. I had my first Christmas like this last year and make gift baskets and recycled toiletries. They looked really pretty and everyone loves them! This year I am making chocolates and have spend the year collecting different silicon moulds. I'm not very creative hut have found the attempts Fun ad it is nice to see my friends and family enjoying the home made aspect. Pay tokens of £1 per creditor until setup.
With regards charges, think I had about 500-1000 quid added to mine in charges and interest, the majority of which was the loan adding the interest they hadn't yet charged me, if that makes sense?DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Got a letter from TSB this morning asking for us to fill in an I&E form. As we alredy have done this for Payplan i was going to enclose a copy of that instead - would this suffice as it is what the DMP is based on and goes into more detail that they want.LBM = 10/10/10

'Not sure what happens next, I guess we just have to wait and see what the creditors do next'.
They will do as they see fit, when they realise you're not going be paying 'em what they want!
Be prepared for some initial argy-bargy and wrangling. Some creditors will acknowledge your difficulties and accept your reduced payments without a murmur. Some might say they haven't received letters, notification etc. Often this is true as their right hand department won't know what the left hand office is doing! Basically they are trying to ascertain that they really can't wring another penny out of you.
Keep all correspondence, notes of phone calls etc.
If you do get negative responses and you feel you can cope calmly, then speak to them on the phone and explain (this is Ian's favourite ploy.) For myself, I wrote to them setting out my position with favourable results on the whole.
This first 'squaring up' is a pain but it will settle. You've done the right thing - the 1st payments are going out towards your debt free future

Others may disagree but I'd be inclined not to return the form, and not give more information than they requested.
I would either phone/write (see my last post) and say you are undertaking a DMP with Payplan (doing your best to fulfill your obligations etc.) and that they should have received this information from them. I would maybe also ask Payplan to resend to TSB.
See also my previous post re: various creditors departments not communicating with each other........
