im an aa member via my bank account thats all, have spoken to bank and they said its gone out on same date for last 3 yrs if im a member why have i not got any membership cards etc.i cant believe ive been that thick not to notice it i thought this payment was my aa loan but looking into it it obviously isnt
will be phoning the aa up tomorrow to find out
how the hell can they just take money without me even recieving any communication surely they need the 3 digit security number on back of card and being as this is new card this year.
i just dont understand its not as if ive got money to burn.i could just bloody cry at the moment if its not one thing its something else.
please someone help0 -
Evening All
Not been on for a while everythings pretty quiet just waiting for the DMP to officially start with the 1st payment going to CCCS on the 1st Dec. Had a letter today from Lloyds saying thank you for the token payment so they seem ok which is good.
Bluelewis Have you ever given your details to AA? If you havent then it is fraud and you should speak to your banks card dept and they should be able to refund the money. If they have ever had your old card details the money just carries on going out even though you have had a new card so they wouldnt need your 3 digit security number. To be honest debit cards are a nightmare as once a company has those details they can just keep taking money and a bank cant stop the payments going through you have to speak to the company who is taking the money to cancel the agreement if there was an agreement in the 1st place but if not fraud would look to refund the money xx0 -
sorry another question to bore you with i really appreciate any help
reply from egg today
" "thanks for the recent correspondence regarding your current financial circumstances,
please call us immediatley on ....................... to enable us to assess your eligisbility for one of our specialist programmes
"
so have they just ignored my letter? what is my best next step with egg? please help me feeling down tonight0 -
I'm afraid these letters are automated to some extent. It's up to you how you proceed. Myself and others would ring them up and tell them that you're starting a DMP, others would insist in communicating by letter only.
They have acknowledged your letter, and they probably wish to talk to you to find out what's going on.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Also what was the template letter you sent them, and have you spoken to the National Debtline at all?DMP mutual support thread No: 2430

thanks ian
no i havent but i have used there website for lots of ideas here is a copy of the letter i sent them originally
" Unfortunately, since opening this account with you, my financial circumstances have changed and I am unable to afford to agreed monthly payments because of multiple accumulative reasons.
I enclose a Personal Budget sheet which shows my total income from all sources, and my outgoings. As you can see I have only £ 220 per month left for my creditors. The offers I have made to my creditors have worked out on a pro−rata basis, and I have written to all my creditors asking them to accept reduced payments.
In view of my circumstances, please would you agree to accept a reduced offer of £ 30 per month to assist me during this difficult period.
If interest or other charges are being added to the account I would be grateful if you would freeze these so that all payments made will reduce what I owe you and assist me in managing my debt liability responsibly.
Should my circumstances improve I will contact you again.
Thank you for your assistance and I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible."
thanks for any further help mate0 -
Well the last line sorta mentions that they get in touch with you, so I don't know what to suggest. After sending the letters what are you expecting back from them?DMP mutual support thread No: 2430

well a reply stating whether they have accepted my offer in my letter (like from halifax who did accept)
this reply from egg just looks like a standard reply with no mention of my letter
just getting stressed with it all now what to get paying on my terms and reducing my debts0 -
Well the nationaldebtline says if they don't accept then just pay what you're offering anyway, in the hope they'll accept later. And at any rate you'll be paying that debt down.
The first line of the Egg letter says "thanks for your recent correspondence...." which means they're received your letter. You can either write back saying please communicate in writing, or give them a ring explaining your situation. There gotta be some negotiation (with interest, or acceptance), which is what PP or CCCS usually do for you. If you do ring them. Restate the offer of payment, DON'T give them any more money (if they ask for it), and see what they say.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
