I take what money you can out (the wages at least) and stick them in the new account. I'd imagine it's too late to transfer all the utility DDs over, but give them a ring, they're normally ok about it, and may offer to make a one off payment using your debit card.

Do cancel any Credit Card DDs though, and make token payments of £1 as needed.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly, or tomorrow, I'd stick around but I'm off to bed!

Oh, and a big welcome to both of you! Come join our merry gang. :)

  • Well time for an update!

I am sending off all the dmp agreement paperwork to CCCS today and I have to say although I know its the only way forward, I am really nervous about it!

I have tried and tried with our creditors to deal with things ourselves, but its not working and all the stress is all on my shoulders as OH cant cope with anything anymore. The way we were going, we were gonna be in debt for about 12 years! thanks to CCCS and the debt remedy, we will be debt free in 5 years:j:j

I am trying to get another job so hopefully might be able to bring that down even more.

I do have one question though, how long does it take to set things up? and I will I need to make the payments CCCS recommended for December?

Sorry for all the questions, but this is all new for me!

    thanks
LBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(
  • Hi All, I hope everyone is well and not panicking about Christmas too much!

A few updates from me and query if anyone can help.

Firstly after receiving good news from HSBC regarding accepting reduced payments I noticed they required the money quite early on in the month. On looking at other creditors statements (there are lots) I noticed that although my payment goes to PP on the 1st of the month they are not receiving the payment to around the 15th meaning the money would not reach HSBC in time and probably upset them! I contacted PP and the only way around this is to make PP payment earlier, fortunately we are paid on the 25th so I am able to change the date to then and HSBC will get their money in time. I only noticed this by chance so its worth keeping an eye on!

Secondly has anyone been successful in negotiating with Halifax on interest charges? I am currently paying them £80 a month and they are adding £70 in reduced interest! It seems crazy that I am only paying off a tenner! PP said that they have reduced interest so that is a start and eventually will probably hand over to DCA who will freeze interest but until this happens any advice would be appreciated!

    Cheers Wanna B:beer:

ooo Letter on the mat from Egg .. They have now sold out £8300 Debt to Apex ... and the new balance of the debt is ... £8700 !!! .. not going to argue where the extra £400 has come from, suffice to say weve only paid them 1/4 of the monthly payments since we started the DMP so the extra £400 on the total balance is a drop in the ocean ! :)

Onwards and upwards.. I wonder fi these are going to play happy or fight dirty ... SOA letter drafted and ready ...

I would check to see what the balance was when it was sold. Sure the DCA aren't supposed to add extra on?
