still no letters been over a week now
i expected at least one or two by now
getting depressed by the constant mobile phone calls0 -
I had a letter from the HSBC credit card people today. They want me to call and also to return the card to them. Problem is I cut the card into a million pieces ages ago!! Since I'm setting up a DMP with CCCS do I need to call them or should I let CCCS deal with it. I have already sent a letter to them stating that CCCS are dealing with it and given them the reference number.0

Am I right in thinking you're doing your own DMP, and you've sent recorded letters to each with your Budget (Financial Statement) and suggested payment?
It will take time. With the phonecalls, are you answering them? And if so do you explain the position? As if you do they should put the calls on hold for a week or so.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
YAY!!!
Been a busy few weeks with my girls (swimming Gala's and Dancing Show rehersals etc!) but my DMP is finally under way (first payment went out to PayPlan yesterday, and we still have money left over to live on!!!
It works out well as my wage (on the 14th of every month) 'just' about covers the Mortgage and DMP payment (on 17th of every month) along with the monthly bills etc.
My OH gets paid on the 1st of the month and hers is with £2 of the amount we have to live on for the month, so in effect i dont touch my money and we 'live' of hers
In other news.......
1> my mortgage payment is going down next month by around £70. Do i need to tell PP ASAP or wait until the new year?....
2> We had a call from my OH's uncle saying that her mother had been left £5.6K in a will. As my OH's mother died 14 years ago the money will go to her - just need to provide proof of ID etc.
3> nPower are dragging their heels refunding me my credit balance after leaving them (£220), but it's coming soon.
4> My OH had a call from the TSB Credit Card at weekend chasing money - Started off quite aggressive, but once she mentioned PayPlan, she was nice as pie and just requested the DMP number (which i put as a contact on the OH's mobile just in case of times like this, and advised that she will put a note on the account an stop the chasing calls

Everyone will find that at the start, regardless of being on a DMP, or sending letters to the Creditors, the people phoning up don't necessarily know that, hence the aggressive manner as they're the debt collectors effectively... all they know is that you haven't paid your bill.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi Chilli
Happy birthday for this week.
1) I'd wait until the new year. Your kids deserve Xmas and that will make more difference to them rather than the Preditors.
2) We are meant to share windfalls equally amontst preditors. Some would consider sticking in emergency fund and if its not needed use it for f&f later. Most people report a huge psychological boost for knowing its there, just in case.
3) Chase em, get it in writting too. Select the option for leaving on the phone even if you are stying, its amazing how it makes them listen.
4) yippppeeeee

Aggreed, plus it will allow the newly set up energy supply to make sure the DD is at the right level.Hopelessly_Hopeful wrote: »2) We are meant to share windfalls equally amontst preditors. When it eventually turns up, it will be put away for a year in the E Fund, then we will reconsider what to do.

Well this month Marks our 2 year aniversary of entering our DMP.
due to the odd overpayment, we are now 1/3 the way though our DMP
:j:T:T
Also thanks to Npower overcharging us, we have just recieved a £200 refund due to estimations on our energy useage over the summer, and the news they are reducing our monthy repayments by £12 means a few more pennies into the household pot.
The only downside has been the rises in fuel prices, that have resulted in it costing almost an extra £5 a tank to fill up now.
Were still struggling with finding car finance for a £2k - £3k vehicle but fingers crossed any moneys we recieve from family etc for Christmas / Birthdays will be going into the Car fund until we can afford to pay cash.LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

Hi everyone just an update. Vanquis have now agreed to our repayment plan with CCCS for 12 months! Also they stated we would not receive any more calls as long as they receive payments on time. So that's one less call to worry about hopefully. Not had any calls from the Halifax regarding whether they are accepting offers or not. Marshall Ward have accepted as have Next and Capital One. Also no news from any of the Payday Loan companies so not sure where thats going. So that's it for now. Just like to add CCCS have been really great. Have a nice weekend everyone.
