About $5 for an alcoholic drink on AA, CO, DL, UAL, US.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • Hi, I was advised that I would be able to have free drinks......says this in my itinery. It better be alcoholic too!!! Will check with the agent 2moro.
  • Booked two flights on Delta last night, £160.00 per return flight to New York.

Outbound 31st Jan, returning 5th February.
  • Booked 2 flights, but after we changed our minds & decided we wanted to stay for 3 nights instead of 2. Phoned up delta & told them I made a mistake & as the tickets hadn't been processed yet, they cancalled the booking allowing me to make it again.
BTW, I used SKYPE to call there US toll free number, if you call from a UK landline you'll get charged international rates even for toll free, but use skype & it's FREE, even for users that have never credited there account.
    Next year we'll be millionaires!

  • Hi, first time to post, so here goes! I was looking for cheap flights to NY for next June, but this Delta deal seemed too good to be true, so I decided to change my plans. I just went on to the Delta website and put in dates that were available according to Martin's original post. I thought as i am Irish I would like to go for St. Patrick's Day, which happens to be on a Saturday night (even better!), so opted for 13th through to 20th March 2007. Got the flights for both myself and my best friend from Cambridge for £160 each. No problem. But then when they e-mailed the confirmation to me I noticed that although 2 flights had been booked they only charged my credit card for 1. Now I like a bargain as much as the next person, but I couldn't leave it like that. So I rang Delta and explained what had happened. I then paid for the second flight and while the 'agent' (their term) was thanking me for bringing it to their attention, she said that she would upgrade both seats to first class as a 'thank you'. I don't know if this plane is cramped or not, but if it means a free glass of champers then I won't complain.
  • Hi, just booked LGW-JFK via Delta's website for the last weekend in November, £160. Very straightforward and lots of availability as far as I could see. Gonna be getting the beers in at the Blind Tiger, Greenwich Village! Thanks Martin!

    yipppeee nice birthday treat!
  • Hi,

This is my first time on the forum so any help much appreciated.....

I'm trying to buy flights to New York for March 07 to surprise my boyfriend for his 30th birthday. Happy to go anytime in March, but my most preferred would be a long weekend (roughly Thurs-Mon/Tues) over the 17th and 18th.

I've used Martin's tips to search the delta site and can find delta 1 and delta 2 flights, but not the cheap cheap price. Here's what I'm getting:

Outbound: London-Gatwick, United Kingdom (LGW) to New York-Kennedy, NY (JFK) on Wed, 14 Mar 2007
    10:00am
    LGW 2:10pm
    JFK Nonstop Delta 2
    Boeing 767-300ER Coach (T)

Return: New York-Kennedy, NY (JFK) to London-Gatwick, United Kingdom (LGW) on Mon, 19 Mar 2007
    7:05pm
    JFK 6:25am
    LGW
Arrives 20 Mar Nonstop Delta 1
    Boeing 767-300ER Coach (L)

Price per passenger (GBP): £216.20 (GBP)
    + £40.20 Taxes/Fees = £256.40

I've also looked at Virgin and that's around £270 per person all in.

Can anyone offer any assisstance as to how to find any better prices on the above?

    Thanks!
