  • Thanks for all the help. Decided to go 8th-13th with Delta in the end so as not to pay the st patrick's day premiums. Got the flights for £160.40 each so I'm very happy!

I was going to use the SALE voucher in opodo to save £20 off the £170.40 (total cost £150.20), but as they charge a £3 credit card fee on top of that and only let you use one SALE voucher per booking, I didn't think it was worth the hassle.

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

Sorry to jump in but this Autumn has seen extremely high demand for hotels in NYC and the bargains of yesteryear are pretty hard to come by. I'm guessing the same will apply to any other peak periods (eg St Patrick's Day). People are still getting rooms around $120 via Priceline but only when bidding 1-2 weeks before.

Have a look at https://www.betterbidding.com and https://www.biddingfortravel.com for recent wins in NYC to see what I mean. blindman is more knowledgable about Priceline than I - I'm sure he would be happy to assist if he can.

Thanks for the great tip. My daughter and her boyfriend are, at long last, off to NEW YORK CITY!!!! You've no idea how excited she is. Thanks again for making it possible, Martin.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

  • I managed to get Continental flights from BRISTOL to New York for next February at just under £170 each. Unheard of.

Hint: Lots of people have booked flights, they seem to be more successful finding them in Nov and Dec than next year. Plus dates around the weekend are more scarce.
IF YOU FIND A FLIGHT DATE THAT WORKS. PLEASE POST IT BELOW)

    Hi,

Can anyone confirm that the offer is NOT still available for flights 7-10 Dec or 1 -4 Dec or 24 - 27 Nov (all +1/2 -1/2 days!) , I have checked loads of times but I dont get cost anywhere near £160 per person, I just wanted to check. Cheers

The offer is still open, (must book by 7th Sept) but the cheapest fares for those dates have gone by the looks of it (popular time).

Still cheap fares in February 2007
