As for the T&C's - the 1200 is to stop us pulling out of the deal at the last minute, as for a buyer, this "Mr Brown" is the alledged buyer, the properties are for his portfolio. We are going carefully with this one, the only way the deal is acceptable now is if we pay at the end of the deal.

Umm, what I meant was do you have a written contract for this money? £1200 is a reasonable sum, and most people wouldn't hand it over just on some verbal say-so.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

The fact that the 'buyer' found by the company in question always seems to be called 'Mr Brown' should set the alarm bells ringing. Why is the vendor being asked to pay for a survey? It's the buyer's responsibility to pay for that.

Come on! It’s clear that Mr Brown has set up a charity for sellers who can’t string two sentences together as regards spelling and grammar.

I get the impression that you are going to hand over the cash no matter what anybody here says…
Yup. Looking at this and the SYH4FREE thread, you can see how scamming works so well.

In response, no we are not just going to hand over our cash - we asked for constuctive info on the company, not just snippy know it alls to comment. Only comment if anyone has definate experience of the company good/bad. Anyone can be a barrack room lawyer on here.
Including you. You have to accept the ups and the downs of internet posting. You give the impression you’re absolutely determined to ignore the warnings.
they have rang me back and said they will wait for fee when sale has gone through as i told them i was not going to pay fee untill then
The reason they tell you this is so you think: ‘well, that’s one in the eye for all those doubters on MSE. I’ll get my card out right now and pay up front as they clearly ARE honest if they’d be prepared to wait for the money.’

We are not totally stupid, as you seem to think .... we dont part with our hard earned cash just to anyone.
We came on here for constructive comments/info on the company, not just a bunch of know-it-alls to keep bashing on "scam". Unless you know something definate about a company, you should be careful what comments you make otherwise you leave yourself open to a law suit should the company and deal be legit. Now theres somthing for you to think on about
Utter balderdash! In defending this idiocy, I have to wonder if you are Mr Brown…

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: No - it’s for whatever Mr Brown and his Moll choose to spend it on.

And without you forking out your upfront payments, Mr Brown of course would find it SOOOO difficult in the current market to build up a portfolio wouldn’t he?

Looking at this sensibly, with my MSE record openly available to you, you probably know ME better than Mr Brown. You still wouldn’t give me your card details would you? :)

    Please say NO…

    Odd thread this.
It seems a little like someone posting a question about a email from Nigeria saying I wnat to send you millions of pounds and asking whether they should proceed.
When the overwhelming advice is do not do it, then the poster takes it as personal insult and says such things as "you do not know what you are talking about because you have never actually met the man from the Nigerian Ministry of Finance"
None so blind than those that do not wish to see.

    thanks for the insult "insane"

My opinion of anyone who goes for this sort of scheme will always be.

When you come back and say it's not a scam and it's all worked out well I will still think you were insane for taking the risk.

I think you will find that the reason there is no history of the company is that it has only just been set up, it is the way these scams work. Chances are that Mr Brown will have a whole string of previous companies doing the same thing for years. As soon as the heat is on the company will be dissolved, and another set up doing exactly the same thing but with a different name.
I would expect an investment company to have a fews years accounts available at Companies House at the very least.
Sounds to me very much like the sell your home 4 free scam, possibly the same people.
