The least the police could do is gather the names and addresses of all individuals scammed and raise it with the relevant MPs, the total money lost would be noted, they could then devise ways to eliminate the scamming. In fact, not too dissimilar to the new rules brought out to stop another financial crisis. Well this is what we pay our taxes for, for the brightest brains in the country, don't you think ? OR am I on the wrong track ?
I have just read through the thread. Re the police, MPs etc lifting a finger to help people, they've know of a scamster operating for the past 2 years and done nothing about him. This particular guy is a UK resident and was disqualified from operating in the UK by the DTI (to do with a timeshare scam). So he went over to Egypt and started a scam over there. Eventually someone smelled a rat (a forum member here) and started up their own discussion site about him.
He fled Egypt some time ago and came back to the West Midlands. Goodness knows what he's doing now but Dubai was mentioned in one of his rants on the other site. (saw Dubai mentioned on here a few pages ago)
Are any of the authorities here interested? Nope, it's been down to the victims to try to get their money back. They've mostly clubbed together to help each other. I know of only 1 who's got something back.
Who knows, it could be this guy involved in this, he certainly can't spell for toffee and resulted to insulting his customers if they dared to challenge him.
Thing is, these shysters tend not to give up and reform but to go somewhere where it's not so 'hot' and where they are unkown.
Edit to add, they've named this person on liarscheatsandb a r s t a r d s.comMortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
thanks for your comments
i don't care if anyone thinks i am a greedy , lazy dimwit. what i do care about is being taken for £1200, AND ABOUT THE SHEER NASTINESS OF THIS IPG MOB......
they have preyed on (mostly) the ordinary lawabiding citizens who just wanted to sell their houses, for whatever reason. who knows what mental anguish some will have gone through, as we are often told that changing home, thats what it is for most ,......HOME.! is one of the most stressful things we do in life. there could be older folk just 'buying down ' for a safe retirerment......lots of reasons.
they dont need 'smart !!!! 'comments from anyone, (i know i dont) especially if they are asking for help.
try thinking of your own mother being taken by this scum!
maybe there is nothing to be done to get back our cash, but ewhy would you want to give up and have someone else conned, maybe you feel better the more that get taken.
not only are there many people on here who have been 'suckered' but what about those with no computer, or not knowing this forum exists..there might be twice our number! we are not an exclusive club i'm sure.
i have started by complaining to my MP about the attitude of the police, telling him that ''ACTION FRAUD' is a waste of cash and other things.
i believe that most of us on here are taxpayers and as such we are entitled to police action, asking for the FSA to advertise 'iffy' companies, many other things too, but not definately not sitting like a black widow spider wAiting for someone new to take the !!!! out of, to make myself feel better.
i think it might do some good if everyone wrote to their own MP asking him/her to take up the matter of the idleness of the police force, after all we hhave not broken the law.
WHY DO YOU WANT OTHERS TO SUFFFER?
Hi Ray,
I totally sympathise with your plight and so am not sure where your vehemence has come from? I've certainly not posted any !!!!!! comments. I've purely mentioned that the authorities seem not to be interested in investigating scamsters and gave you the info on the guy from Birmingham who has got away with it in this country and Egypt.
I certainly don't think that anyone who has lost out from these shysters is greedy, the scammers themselves are of course.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I am in full agreement with Ray, there has been a terrible crime committed and more than likely many people have lost at least £1200 each time they were successfull in persuding people that it was a good idea.
This site is excellent on the whole, but there is an awful lot of so called "regulars" who claim to be an oracle and font of all knowledge, who are down right nasty. Some of us came to this site after being approached, looking for definative info on the company, no one actually knew anything about them, the only info we received was a bunch of people telling us to stay away from the company and leave their site alone! In our case we were just waiting to see how the deal panned out, IPG were actually very polite to us - thats the only thing that was going in their favour, although they were vile to many others.
Having even got to the stage in the deal where our contracts had been sent to their alledged Solcitior, we had no reason to suspect anything other than a sale was going to go ahead, the rest has been documented, they have sodded off!
The police obviously have bigger fish to catch, they have to offset man-hours against the case and weigh it up for a clear up rate, I am sure that they are now at the stage whereby they think its a waste of time, as its much of a long shot to catch up with IPG.
One last note, to the individuals who have slagged us newbies off on here, beware the boot may be on the other foot one day and you need some advice. There is no need to be rude, suspicious of new posters, have a laugh at others expense and ridicule those posters who are stressed and have perhaps, less poorer admin skills for typing spelling etc.0 -

It seems like the 'regulars' were correct doesn't it?to the individuals who have slagged us newbies off on here, ... There is no need to be rude, suspicious of new posters
If you want to be taken seriously as a newbie then you need to listen to advice given and not just keep suggesting that IPG might be legit despite all the evidence to the contrary. You accused regulars of writing "a bunch of nonsense about something they know nothing about" when in fact some of us had researched this company and could see exactly how this was going to end.
If you want to be taken seriously as a newbie then you need to not throw all your toys out of your pram, delete most of your posts and say you're not going to post again... only to start posting again a few weeks later.
If you want to be taken seriously as a newbie then you need to not repeatedly change your story and refuse to explain yourself.
Why did you first claim you were never asked for payment up front and then a week later say you were asked for the money up front?Every generation blames the one before...

"Why did you first claim you were never asked for payment up front and then a week later say you were asked for the money up front? " I do not have to justify myself to you.
Actually if you take my posts into context, I think I implied that no monies had been paid up front.

This matter concerns you - why?
I again state this site has a good place in society, but there are individulals who think of themselves as a type of oracle and talk a lot of crap and nonsense about subjects they actually knew nothing about. NO ONE KNEW ABOUT IPG, but you obviously did - how did you know and no one else did? Well done you!!!!!!!!0 -
The problem with Police, MP's etc tieing up their time with scams like this is its very difficult to prove in law and the scamsters know this. The time involved to go through paper trails etc on each case is huge and unfortunately in a society where we place a monetary value on time, it just doesn't make sense usually to pursue these people
As others have said crimes like this are nasty becasuse they generally end up targetting those who can least afford to lose money and who are generally the most desperate (don't mean that in a nasty way) to achieve the perceived end result.
Bottom line is if people followed general sound advice which is not to pay anything up front these scams wouldn't work, but as humans we are all open to various degrees of promises, marketing , advertising etc. Its why big companies spend so much of their budgets on marketing and advertising, because they know that a bunch of people will believe what they keep telling them if they say it enough times.
So despite some thinking that people are being nasty or clueless when they say don't pay anything up front (especially for something out of the ordinary like this) it actually is the best advice anyone on here can actually give. The people that are genuinely being nasty and gloating about otehrs misfortune dont; deserve the time of day, but most on here are not like that as far as I can see0 -

They cold-called vendors claiming to have buyers interested in their properties and asked for money up-front - that's what alerted the savvy people on this site that it was potential con. Even though they agreed to your request to pay them nothing until at least contract exchange had taken place, as you discovered, they had no real buyer for you property, and soon broke off any communication with you."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

This concerns me as a regular user of this site who (along with many others) was trying to prevent innocent members of the public being conned out of money they could ill afford to lose.
Then you come in refusing to listen to some very experienced people, abusing anyone who disagrees with you then deleting your posts, and telling victims of this crime that IPG are a great bunch and it may turn out OK in the end. No wonder nobody trusts you.
Even now you don't care about the people who were conned; you just want to have the last word while refusing to admit you got it badly wrong. Fine, blame everyone else for your mistakes, but don't say people here didn'ty try to warn you, over and over again.Been away for a while.0 -

That actually wasnt aimed at you - it was another poster being quoted. You are so desparate to keep your nose involved in this that you have to claim someone elses quotes as your own.
You had nothing to "warn" me about but you know this company so very well that I needed warning...... Well done you for finding every last detail out about IPG, next you will be saying you know where they are living.0 -

In our case, nothing ventured nothing gained. You cant tell me you havent gone for a long shot at anytime, especially in the property market.0
