Hi blabberwort, I used MSE's sign found on website under 'no more junk'. I can't put a link on as I'm a new user sorry! I went to cold callers part and printed both signs to use, I'd say I'd thoroughly recommend it but so far they're all ignoring it! Hence the thread! Hope yours works better than mine! :)

Look on a no cold calling zone as a lightning conductor. It is probably better than a broken nose

they wouldnt have to worry bout cold callers then just how cold it would be in their jail cell

They ignore official signs just goes to show how arrogant they are, they always believe it doesn't apply to them.

I got nothing better to do with my time than answer the door met with over enthusiastic lying sales person who simply doesn't take 'no' for an answer, some of them fraudulently change you to there preferred supplier, no bias either, yea right.

You carry on past 'No Cold Callers' signs and do a cold call. You call me ignorant.

Charlie Billy has it right. You are arrogant.

I work in an (inbound) call centre for one of the major energy companies and I have NEVER had a customer with a positive experience of door to door energy salespeople. From asking elderly or vulnerable customers to "just sign here so that my manager sees that I've checked the meter" to practically staging 'sit ins' or being
    quite agressive verbally.
Every time I speak to a totally confused and often extremely upset and worried elderly customer I'd like to make sure that the sales person in question is struck off and loses any comission. Sadly I think that as long as they're bringing in the numbers there would need to be a lot of noise before a company would get rid of a 'good' doorstepper!

The companies have been warned many times before about what there salesmans do, I believe that at best they turn a blind eye at worst they encourage its sales man to lie. They have a vested interest to be at your door, they dont come on and say "I can find you the best supplier for your needs in terms of price?" no they may say they can find best deal but only with that one supplier it might not even be a better deal in fact quite often they ask people how much they are paying then tell they can pay less until a huge whooping bills comes 9 months later because your direct debt doesn't match your usage

Isn't it funny(not) that the door knockers who you don't want knocking your door think they have the goddam right to interrupt your life, expect you to answer your door and listen to their BS?

If a saleperson knocks my door they gets told once politely to go away...second time it isn't polite. As a previous poster said ..if I want something I am intelligent enough to go and look on my own. I do not need some dimwit knocking MY door, telling ME what I need

And Jamespir, I assume you are one of these pain in the !!!!"sales people". (I use the term sales very loosely becuase to be honest you are all a pain in the rectum)

Maybe it is about time that no cold-calling areas became enforceable. Then we could have a bit of peace and quiet.

As far as I am concerned you have NO right to my time. So F**K OFF!!
