As the title above, I have three old Hard drives, need the data, im not a business so cost is key!
Based in London
Look at Kroll Ontrack.
They are not cheap (any data recover can run into thousands as it can be a difficult process) but they do have great reviews. Look at it another way, if the data is that critical then getting anyone who's not a well professional can make it worse..0 -

A customer just received this from Kroll "Drive was suffering from minor Physical Media Damage (to the platters where the data is stored) and although we expected to get around this the damage was on a critical area meaning everything was lost."
Yep, nothing guaranteed in data recovery other than the cost to try...0 -

I found the service appalling, I felt cheated and they wasted my time. I am now having great difficulty in trying to get the company to return my hard drive. Data Recovery enticed me to try out there service stating they thought it would cost £97, but in fact once they had control of my hard drive I received a price of £510. 100 Pall Mall is only the postal address for Rapid Data UK and they are not in fact based in London, Rapid's data recovery is carried out in Wales, so there London code number of "020" is also misleading. I reported the company and now they have been both reported to the Office Of Fair Trading in London and in there local area. Others who have reason to complain, or feel mislead by there address and any other reason, should also contact the consumer advice helpline (CAB) who will report the company to the OFT on your behalf0

http://www.cheadledatarecovery.co.uk/
They are precise, don't charge for any work they cant do, and pretty good price ..
(They have recovered 100% of the users data both times, for around £250 IIRC)
Highly recommended

Fortunately, I didn't send money before experiencing disappointment - but I lost my Ipod.
I had some music files (MP3) and almost 100 audiobooks (allMp3s) downloaded to my Ipod and was told by my local IT guy that disc heads (I think that's the term) probably weren't working. He couldn't fix and referred me to a data recovery outfit (I'm in the U.S.) I decided to do an Internet search to comparison shop and found Fields Data Recovery in Missouri. They touted great service at best costs and feature a chart showing how much less expensive their service can be. Plus, they immediately sent a UPS shipping label, gave free diagnostics and promised to return Ipod even if they couldn't salvage data. They have good reviews on some sites. Their website promises 48 hour turnaround. In 2 conversations I stressed Ipod, MP3 files, and in a third conversation mentioned I also had some photos from a trip stored. After a week and several phone calls, I was told they were only able to recover the photos - and not one MP3 file! - or 4gb out of the 40gb I had stored. And the cost was twice what I was initially told. The "account rep" tried to pressure me to pay for these, saying I had authorized them to retrieve them, but fortunately I had never given my cc info. When I first called he said they had worked on Ipods successfully, and since Ipods store more music than photos, I assumed I'd be getting most of my audiobooks back. I don't know if they even tried to get the MP3s. And he never returned the Ipod, said it was of no use to anyone. I was misled initially, and wish I had sent the Ipod to the outfit my IT guy recommended. I subscribed to this site specifically to give my experience with Fields Recovery, and warn others.0 -
Unfortunately I didn't see these posts until after I'd already sent a damaged flash drive to Fields data Recovery. They were very encouraging over the phone and said that there would be no charge for an assessment of the work. They estimated £50-£150 for the repair, but when they phoned me a day later they said it would be an initial cost of £219 and a final payment of someting over £100. I said immediately that that was far too expensive and asked them to return the flash drive, which they said they would do. Two days later I rang them again asking when I would receive it and they said they hadn't got my address, which was untrue. I gave them the address and was told it would be in the post. I still haven't received anything and am afraid I never will. The flash drive contained documents compiled over several years of academic research and I think now that the data could be retrieved by a proper technician. This is years after the original posts appeared about Fields. Does anyone know what happened about them? In 2010 there was a very angry person who said he was in the process of suing them. Strictly speaking it is theft for them to retain or destroy my property. What can I do?0
