Fields Data Recovery / Rapid Data Recovery

Hello one and all,
While some customers may have received a service (and if lucky a satisfactory service), no one can refute the experience that I have had and the fall in expectations based on what can be delivered.
Five years of complaints is a long trail of under performance for any organisation. In any other role, organisation or industry there would be cause of concern. So if the organisation in question continues to fall below its promises, publicity and proposed performance it is a duty for us to raise our heads and speak up.
The patience required to sustain a "hate" campaign over 5 years would be extraordinary and futile. So I will revert to a cliche and say there is no smoke without fire...or in the case of Fields their is no data recovery without an expert I.T. engineer (which they consistently fail to prove that they have access to).
That is all I have to say on the matter and as a customer who has been burnt and sought alternative solutions with a more satisfactory outcome I suggest:
1) Always ask for a written diagnosis / estimate in advance.
2) Identify clearly the locations where your "data" storage will be transferred to from and particularly worked at in advance
3) Try not to select a location that you can not physically arrive at yourself in case there needs to be a direct collection/drop off point.
4) Find a local vendor for the solution (as you are putting money back into your own economy)
Regards

After a month of lies I finally managed to get my hard drive back from this company, in a box surrounded by foam and no static bag, despite being initially promised the process should be no problem and take 2-4 days.
The customer service was terrible, I never received any promised updates, I never had any confidence in what they were telling me and the operators I spoke to after paying were arrogant and rude.
The hard drive was returned with a technical report that literally only consisted of "We were unable to recover any data".
I sent the drive on to Kroll OnTrack data recovery who recovered the data without any issues on time and on price.
In my opinion, Rapid Data Recovery / Fields Data Recovery are at best incompetent and at worst scammers.0 -

I used these guys - In my panic of thinking I had lost all of my pictures and personal videos I must admit I was a bit hasty not doing a basic background google check, but was not thinking straight!
They were a nightmare - lack of response, I was told it would be approx. £200, this suddenly doubled to £400 + VAT and they could not recover all of my data.
When I asked for my original drive back they just IGNORED me, but when they wanted me to pay for the service they were happy to chase me 3 times a day, funny that!
I am still trying to get my original drive back (1 month later)......... Fingers crossed they pull their finger out, I will let you know if I have any success through any means!......0 -

Is it worth me pointing out that the rcoull post #21 is clearly another fake positive review? Have reported it for removal.0

Well I sure got scammed... They told me my hard drives head was damaged and I had to spend £195 for parts and labour in advance with an 80% probability of data recovery. Then WHEN successful another £395 for the actual data. I managed to drop the second price to £195 but it didn't really matter as it was never successful. I doubt they even tried to be honest. They didn't contact me for a week after I paid them the first amount and when they finally did it was to ask me where to send the failed hard drive. Not even mentioning that the process had failed and that i spent £195 + VAT FOR NOTHING.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT give these scammers any of your money. I've never felt so violated before in my life.0 -
Our computer adviser sent a hard drive to Rapid Data Recovery. We were charged approx £300 for parts which we were told were required to get it to work. We were then told, after a number of weeks, no data could be recovered. They sent us back the hard drive. We then sent the hard drive to Kroll Ontrack who have recovered 95% of the data within days (having first sent us a report indicating what files were/were not recoverable). Draw your own conclusions about Rapid Data Recovery. We would never go near them again.0

- agreed
- but anyone claiming to be a computer adviser who suggests 'Rapid Data Recovery'
