Another player mentioned on this site before, Call 18866 now has mobile phone access. So you can get their rates with the cost of your normal rate (free if you are on Orange).
And as I don't know anyone who has lower rates to Europe, Oz or the US, this might be the best bet for most - works for me.
****
Just checked something on their website, and they also have a 0844 566 12 12 number, which supposedly costs 5p pm on your mobile. Not sure if this is true or now and have asked for clarification.

Hello Martin,
You have obviously heavily investigated the CPS providers. Despite reading your article I still can't get my head around the concept, but I am toying with an idea based on an experience I had when first using the internet years ago..... I'm keeping the idea under my hat for the time being, but if your answers to my questions are positive we might be onto a winner.
1. Am I right to assume that an assortment of CPS's would be required in order to get the absolute CHEAPEST call rates to international numbers?
2. Am I right to assume that an assortment of CPS's would be required in order to get the absolute CHEAPEST call rates to various mobile provider numbers?
3. Am I right to assume that an assortment of CPS's would be required in order to get the absolute CHEAPEST call rates to NG National numbers?
4. Am I right to assume that an assortment of CPS's would be required in order to get the absolute CHEAPEST call rates to Lo-Call numbers?
and finally
5. Times of the day would also effect the CPS used?
I await with interest your responses to the above questions.0 -

I'm on Orange everyday 50 which I believe means I can call 0800 numbers for free. I would like to set up an override facility to call friends internationally and for cheap daytime and other network calls. However, I live in a shared flat and don't want the land line re-routed as One-Tel do! Can someone recommend the best freephone override service for mobile only subscription or that doesn't require redirecting the land line? Thanks!Titch0

have just joined Swiftnet, they are per second billing + 0800 number access, good for short calls, i used to be on telco global but they now have 5p min call charge, though their customer service is excellent.
Orange Plans are free to 0800 , but Orange P.A.Y.G is definately chargeable.0 -
There is an option for making free calls worldwide, with ED50 and o2 tariffs, if you look carefully. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

telco is now telco global ,(type those key words in google)... telco are good , excellent cust services, BUT they now have a 5p minimum charge, pricey for quick calls , so i now use swiftnet, no connection charge plus billing per second, go through an agent , as listed earlier in this section. they have 0800 & 0207 numbers for access0

Donnie,
I haven't had much more time to look into it - need to give up the day job! Swiftnet was looking promising but was confused by their registration process - maybe I'm too impatient!
My main usage, over and above my included off-peak calls, is other network calls and the occassional daytime landline calls when I'm not in the officeHowever my sister is working in Tanzania for the next six months and it would be good to be able to call her, along with friends in Canada and the US. Any more guidance (free calls???!) would be appreciated!
TIA Lardy BoyTitch0 -
PS I called Orange and they charge 80p min to call Tanzania.
PPS She couldn't tell me if freephone / 0800 numbers were charged or not on my ED50 tariff! It 'wasn't on her screen'...Titch0
