good luck with your declutter Cheery, i always find i'm happier when my living spaces are clutter free, which explains how i feel at the moment.

When I didn't tidy my room when I was younger, my mum always said "a tidy room means a tidy mind". Now I am old I realise she was probably right!

Ooh, yes, you're right of course LT! :T :T The car itself is silver, but everything inside it will be red and gold I think :j We've got a gorgeous new red duvet cover (that I bought for the bed and realised it was the wrong size - it was from a charity shop though!), and a couple of pillow cases (not very interesting), but I think it definitely needs a couple of 'van cusions' :T :T Mr Daffs has made window cover type things (black on the outside for stealth, gold on the inside for glamour :rotfl:) but a bit of bunting wouldn't go amiss either I don't think :T

Ooh, this is going to be the most glamourous Berlingo in the world when it's done :rotfl:

Just getting the cakes out of the oven - Fay, I used your silicone moulds, they were great! :T :T Thank you SO much! :j :j :j Going to sneak the heart shaped buns into the freezer though, they're not really the most appropriate shape for tonight :o So I made another one in a loaf tin :T

Funnily enough, I feel like I've got LOADS of time this evening, even though I didn't stop working til after 7! Just off to read another page of memory girl's thread, and then I'm going to clear my little corner of the kitchen table. I LONG so much for a big kitchen table in the middle of the kitchen :o And we've talked and talked about it, but it just won't work here, because you have to go through the kitchen to get from the outside to the living room, and then back through it to get upstairs.

So, at the minute the table is ideal size for me, but pushed up against a wall, with a large amp underneath so you can't get your feet under. It's also got a desk top computer at one end, a kind of cupboard thing in the middle with a cd player on top of another bit of electrical thing (very technical :rotfl:) and then all manner of pens, speakers, a set of mini drawers with paints in (??) and to top it all off a large brass figure of some bloke holding a sword :rotfl: the whole fiasco is just asking to topple down at any minute! :rotfl:

However - I can't do anything about all that right now, as it is mostly under the control of Mr daffs :o

BUT - what I CAN do is sort out 'my' side, which is similarly encumbered with a couple of upright file things that I plonk all manner of post, books etc in 'to be dealt with later'. There's also some old receipts, a wind up torch in the shape of a cow (??) and a box of tile adhesive. So Tonight I'm going to clear it off and make space for either a fruit bowl or a vase of flowers, haven't quite decided yet :T

(cakes are out of the oven - mmmmmmm)
  • Happpy sorting daffy :-) have a wonderful weekend i'm off to the bed :-) g'night I have work tomorrow xx

    Night Happy :T

Well, I threw a fair amount of paperwork away, and got a pile of stuff to be put away in various other places, but then mate turned up, so I just bunged it all back in the file :o But at least I know the only things in there are things I want to keep that just need filing elsewhere, so I'll make it my first 15 minute job tomorrow :T

Busy-ish one tomorrow I think. Phd stuff to do, including probably a trip to the library to pick up some books. I also need to write an application for a course which will be absolutely brilliant, and is all expenses paid so work won't have to pay anything. It's relevant to my PhD stuff too. The problem is that it's for 'post doctoral' people, early career researchers who don't have access to funding to attend things like that from work. I don't, and I also don't have access from PhD place either any more. But I don't know whether I'm eligible as I haven't actually *got* my PhD yet. I did email several weeks ago, and didn't receive a reply. Should have tried ringing too :o Anyway, I think it's quite short, so I'm going to put in an application anyway :T

Also going to clear a bit of the garden - we're borrowing a shredder off a friend on sunday to shred the tree we cut down, so I'm going to put the chippings on a different part of the garden :T However, at the minute it's covered in weeds :o So I'll clear those, then I can bung the chippings straight on there on Sunday :T

And Mr Daffs is out tomorrow night, so I was half considering a batch cooking evening :T I've never done one before <wibble> so might have to do a bit of reading up! :T Don't know what mate's plan is though, so don't know whether he'll be here or off out somewhere

WI in the morning though :j Gosh, feeling so positive after all the things I gotdone today! :j :j I've got as far as bed, but i'm all enthused and don't want to go to sleep yet! :rotfl: Might carry on reading MG's thread for a little while........

Did you do it honeybear?? Well done! :j :j It DOES get easier, I promise!! :T Well blitherin done though, the first day is the worst I reckon! :j Do you feel better for it?? :rotfl:

Cheery day here so far. Up early, and gave mate a lift to the station. Popped to the library on the way back, but they didn't have the book I need (the computer said it was on the shelves, so it'll probably never turn up now!). Then got a bit of fruit and veg, and bumped in to the unfortunate lady on the end of last night's shenanigans :( Poor thing, I made her cry being all sympathetic :o She was being very good about it though - sad, but not angry or anything, and hopeful of being friends in the future, and appreciative of the time they'd shared. Just the way I would have dealt with it, and I wholeheartedly approve :) Not that there isn't room for a good deal of wallowing occasionally, mind you, I'm just not very good at it for long periods! :rotfl:

Anyway, WI, scales in boots (put a pound ON   Must have been all that cake last night and this morning :o :rotfl: REALLY need to start running again!), charity shops, library (my book that I ordered WEEKS ago arrived!), and home for lunch :)

And we managed to pick up a few cheery things from a skip up the road :o An extremely cheery pink colander (SOOOOO cheery! But a bit rusty so it'll probably be used as a planter in the garden :T) and a pink and white gingham mug! :T :T Currently drinking my tea out of it :T :T

Sun's shining, things to do, but feeling cheery and positive again today! :j :j Long may it last! :j

Weirdly, yes I do :) I am one of those strange creatures who likes exercise, mainly cos I like feeling the things that my body is capable of doing (hope that doesn't sound too freakish :o)

Hope your day continues to be cheery :D

Doesn't sound weird at all! :T In fact, I read something once about some research that said that women who exercise have a much better body image than those who don't - regardless of what they actually *looked* like. Something to do with seeing the body as 'useful' or 'strong' or 'working' rather than just 'something to look at'. So actually you make perfect sense, well done! :T

(you might even persuade me to shred again this afternoon after a week off! :T)
  • Well don't take it too far...you can always follow my exercise plan of picking the box up then putting it back down again :rotfl:

honey that sounds like my exercise plan, picking up a duster, looking at it mysteriously then putting it back again with a shake of my head :)
