I also didn't get any decluttering done, but I DID do that thing for the LETS scheme - hmm, there's an idea, wonder if anyone on there offers decluttering??

I saw a van belonging to a decluttering service a few months ago and I recall one of the things written on it was that they can help clear out the belongings of people who have passed away but that's all a bit morbid and sad.

I don't want anyhelp with my decluttering because I'd be mortified if I had to let anybody near the press under the stairs:o

I'm reading memorygirls thread from the start and the end at the moment. Don't suppose you use her mind map techniques for your study/phd?

Hey Cheery, sounds like you are making progress which is fab.

Beanie - you mentioned about the census, well the census is taking place in both Scotland and England & Wales in March 2011 but they are organised seperately, so there is one board for England & Wales and one for Scotland.

I think both will need casual staff around March / April next year and it is worth signing up for the email alerts if you are interested in the extra cash.

Cheery - hope you enjoy London, let me know if you need any moneysaving tips....my friend laugh at me for all the vouchers / deals / email offers that I accumulate but for me it is worth it!!!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Goodness knows how, we arrived at their house about then! :rotfl: weird time warps going on I think :rotfl:

Thanks Makeup! Not entirely sure what I'm doing yet.... Don't think there'll be much chance to wander about sadly - meeting a friend for coffee on Monday afternoon, but no idea where as I don't even know where she lives! Won't be going out for dinner as I'll be all on my lonesome. I'm staying in a friend's flat, but she's on holiday, and her flatmate (who I've never met!) won't be in most of the evening anyway. Bit of a weird one, but at least it's free!

Tuesday morning meeting workmate for tea and 'work' in some random cafe we find near Holborn tube station :) Any suggestions of a nice, easy one to find?? :D Work will pay for tea (although of course we don't want to be too silly with expenses, but since they've saved the cost of 2 hotel rooms...)

Going back again in a couple of weeks, might have a whole afternoon to myself then! :j :j

Just got back from friends' house - absolutely gorgeous dinner, rather alarming moment when I went to the loo and a large spider 'fell' (or jumped) off the wall onto the floor as I walked in to the (incredibly tiny) room  Very pleased with myself for not making a big fuss :rotfl: although I did go and use the other bathroom after that! :rotfl:

    Early night I think! :j

Mags, I too would be mortified to let anyone help me clear out  and I'd probably run round shouting 'no! You can't get rid of that!' which would kind of defeat the point :o :rotfl:

Actually, this house is mostly full of Mr Daffs' stuff, not mine ;) Honest gov ;)

As for mind maps, yes, I use them quite a lot actually :T Remember doing spider diagrams at school :) Then I did a Permaculture design course a fewyears back - they're very big on using them. I use them for all kinds of things - to do lists (which I confess to then writing out in list form so I can see what order to do things in :rotfl:), planning PhD chapters, writing down what I've read in journals etc I think they're great :) Don't know exactly what memory girl does with them though, haven't got that far yet, still up to the bit where everyone's asking the universe for cheery things :j

OOoh, and after complaining about my wrist hurting earlier while I was chopping up the ENORMOUS mound of trees, our friends we saw tonight have offered to lend us their shredder! :T :T (like, shreds trees, not that mad Shred woman!) :rotfl: Going to get it on Sunday for fun and games, and the shreddings will cover the bit outside the kitchen window under the bird table - so two things solved at once, and i's not costing a thing! :j :j Have great plans for garden makeover that won't cost me anything, and this is a good start! :j :j
