    Evening LT and Happy! :beer: Didn't see you there, you posted while I was writing my long waffly post! :rotfl:

    Back from the shop now, and just trying to work myself up to shredding :eek: Not sure I can be bothered, but I might not get chance tomorrow as need to PhD in the day and we're off out in the evening...

    I've boiled the kettle to soak the washing up while I do it, the washing machine's doing its last whizz, so I suppose I've got the 'rewards' of doing the washing up and hanging the washing out to dry when I've shredded :rotfl:

    Oh, and we taped Emma off the tv the other night, so when I've finished I can curl up in front of that with a cuppa :coffee: :T

    * ring friends re what time to go round for dinner tomorrow (very important!)
    * ring friend re staying at her house in London next week (also very important)
    * ring friend re meeting her for tea in London next week (er, also very important :D)
    * [STRIKE]transfer dentist money from emergency fund - £29.10[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]transfer van fixing money from van fixing fund to Mr Daffs - £90[/STRIKE]
    * set up van spreadsheet
    * [STRIKE]send Amazon dispatch email[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]add Amazon money to spreadsheet[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]check bank and update signature[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]check budget - shouldn't have spent £14 today so need a bit of rejigging :o [/STRIKE]
    * shred day 23 (I think, or is it 24??)
    * [STRIKE]walk to shop for milk[/STRIKE]
    * tidy kitchen
    * [STRIKE]put washing on[/STRIKE]
    * hang washing up
    * [STRIKE]put bread on[/STRIKE]
  • My word you got alot done, good luck today xxx

    Yay I've time to catch up on your cheery blog!

    ONE DAY I must update my own pathetic excuse for a blog..........................the bunting in the kitchen is making me laugh thank you!

    Goodluck with phd'ing - I've not done any yet - maybe later today I can twangle with some bits - will see how I feel.

    Sorry :o Will stop telling you off :o You know better than the rest of us what's better for you! :o And I do understand that sometimes some *action* makes you feel far less anxious about it than fretting about what needs to be done! So I shall consider myself told and will stop telling you what to do!

    I'm good :) All ready and raring to go, although I didn't go to sleep til about half 1, woke up at half 2 wondering why Mr Daffs hadn't come home yet, woke up again at half 3 when he did come home and sat up for half an hour chatting over a cuppa, then woke up again at 8.30 to the sound of power tools across the road <yawn>

    Starting a new PhD chapter today! :j This one was only 4500 words in the original version, and it could do with being ocnsiderably longer than that... So anyway, I think we might need a little tiny list to be going on with since last night's worked so well! :j (and I'm going to indulge myself by including things I've already done) :rotfl:

    * hang wet washing up from last night :o
    * clean bathroom
    * ring friend re dinner tonight - we're going at 6, but don't need to take anything with us so that's good. Might try some experimental barley sugar though :j
    * PhD
    - read through original chapter and examiners' comments
    - make list of what needs to be done
    - check timetable to see how much time I can allocate (er, about minus a fortnight I think :rotfl:)
    - get all papers/books that need reading (might involve a trip to the library)
    - print off chapter (if I've gone to the library, otherwise it can wait til tomorrow)
    - make detailed plan of what bits need doing by when
    - make a decent start on reading
    * 15 mins tree chopping in the garden
    * make barley sugar??
    * 15 mins decluttering

    I'm busy being all inspired by Hypno's decluttering at the minute :j And oh, the idea of having a house tidy enough for a cleaner!! :rotfl: Not that I'll be getting a cleaner, mind you, but it'd be nice to know I *could* if I wanted to :rotfl: So I'm going to try to get in a little bit of sorting somewhere in the house each day.

    BUT - PhD has to come first!! Speaking of which... Mr Daffs will inevitably get up in a minute and ask if I want to go for a walk to the shops with him, so I'd best get something done at least before then or I'll be grumpy if I don't go because I've missed out, and grumpy if I DO go because I won't have done anything useful first! :rotfl:

    Back in a bit, hope you've all got cheery plans for the day!

    xxxx

    I appreciate your lovely gently firm kind common sense very much!! xxx

    hi Cheery, hope you got a bit of PhD done and also a stroll to the shops.
    How on earth do you make barley sugar???
    don't tell Fay but i'm currently tucking into some banana loaf/cake, which is very nice but also feels very heavy at the moment, i may have put an extra nana in it which would explain that but i'm not sure. :)
  • Hey LT - thats the one kind of cakey/bread thing I do actually like - unless people put evil dried fruit in it :) fingers crossed re car - sorry for randomly disappearing last night online - house turned into chaos in billiseconds and DD nabbled my computer x

    Mmm, banana cake! :j :j BUt dried fruit evil?? Dried fruit is great! Ah well, more for the rest of us I suppose! :j :rotfl:

    Just popped in to cross a couple of things off. Glad we've finished sausaging now Fay! :o :rotfl: We have a friend down here who is absolutely lovely and wouldn't hurt a fly, once not so long ago she was really worried because she'd *thought* something *slightly* mean about her partner - not even said it! - and so now when I worry about being mean to someone, Mr Daffs always says I'm being 'as mean as Jo' - eg, not mean at all :rotfl:

    Anyway, here's the list...

    * [STRIKE]hang wet washing up from last night [/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]clean bathroom[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]ring friend re dinner tonight - we're going at 6, but don't need to take anything with us so that's good. Might try some experimental barley sugar though [/STRIKE]
    * PhD
    - [STRIKE]read through original chapter and examiners' comments[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]make list of what needs to be done[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]check timetable to see how much time I can allocate (er, about minus a fortnight I think ) [/STRIKE]

    - print off chapter (if I've gone to the library, otherwise it can wait til tomorrow)
    - [STRIKE]make detailed plan of what bits need doing by when[/STRIKE]
    - make a decent start on reading
    * 15 mins tree chopping in the garden
    * make barley sugar??
    * 15 mins decluttering

    Getting there, although I'm going to have to stop to get ready at 5, which I've just realised is in about 2.5 hours! :eek: :rotfl:

    (also confess to getting a phone call through the LETS scheme this morning from someone round the corner with a broken toe wanting me to drive them to Halfords. I did (although I would have been better working!), and got 10 'stones' for my trouble - which I'll put towards getting someone to come and help me chop up that pesky tree in the garden since my hand seems worryingly close to feeling like I've got RSI when I start typing too much or using the secateurs... :eek: :eek:

    Best get back to it then if I've only got a couple of hours! :eek:

    Right then, a last update before I toddle off for a shower :T

    * [STRIKE]hang wet washing up from last night [/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]clean bathroom[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]ring friend re dinner tonight - we're going at 6, but don't need to take anything with us so that's good. Might try some experimental barley sugar though [/STRIKE]

    - [STRIKE]check timetable to see how much time I can allocate (er, about minus a fortnight I think ) [/STRIKE]

    * [STRIKE]15 mins tree chopping in the garden[/STRIKE]
    * make barley sugar??
    * 15 mins decluttering

    Not a bad day altogether I don't think! :j :j :j Made a decent start on my chapter, pleased I got a bit of tree chopping done, it's actually starting to look like I'm making a dent in it now! :rotfl:

    Not going to make the barley sugar though - I'm practising being on time for things at the minute :o :rotfl: as part of my rolling programme of self improvement :rotfl: and the people we're going to see are ALWAYS on time, and we are ALWAYS late when we go to see them, so we've set ourselves a challenge this evening! :rotfl:

    I also didn't get any decluttering done, but I DID do that thing for the LETS scheme - hmm, there's an idea, wonder if anyone on there offers decluttering?? :eek:

    Anyway, best go and get a shower, then we've got half a chance of leaving on time! :j :j :j

    (ooh, I also started reading memory girl's thread (like everyone else at the minute it seems!) How very inspiring! :T I too do the 15 mins thing - sometimes it's the only way I can get ANYTHING done :rotfl: 15 mins work, 15 mins idly reading the internet, 15 mins work, 15 mins gardening, 15 mins work, 15 mins tidying etc - probably get more work done that way than any other! Certainly have done this afternoon! :rotfl:

    Hope everyone's having a lovely evening out in the sunshine! :j :j
