good luck in boots and on the scales.I would say that as you're making sure that all the household bills etc are as low as possible etc that you're contributing to the household costs but just in a different way.0

From the looks of things what I pay isn't far off half anyway! :T
Bit shaken here at the minute. Mr Daffs was due back about 8, obviously got caught up in what he was doing and I got a call at 10.40 to say he was leaving. About 15 mins got another call to say the damn car's broken down!!   How long have we had it??? Four weeks???? NOt even a blo*dy month!!!
Battery light started flashing on me the other day, we took it to the garage, they tested it, said it was working fine, no dodgy connections etc. Booked it in for a service and MOT on Tuesday. Mr Daffs driving home tonight, and the light came on and stayed on, then all the lights started getting dimmer and dimmer..... and now the engine's stopped and won't start again. Poor man's not impressed in the slightest, things like this make him really agitated, he's not at all good in a crisis of this kind!
Anyway, we've figured out where he is, I've rung the breakdown people (good job it was me really, as the number I had said we weren't with them any more, gave me another number which was for a bloody sales team for the people we ARE with, and they're obviously shut! Found them on the internet in the end - that would have just made him explode with agitation and crossness!). They'll get him within 45 minutes and bring him home with any luck.
I can't say I'm at all impressed!! Four bl**dy weeks!!!! And the darn thing had a new battery not so long ago!!
Ah well, best get myself nice and calm, he is NOT going to be a happy bunny by the time he gets home and all of my patience and consoling talents will be needed.....0 -
Deep breaths here...
Still no sign of the RAC - although I've just rung them and they said the bloke will be there in 5 mins. What happened to the 45 minute thing?? This has been knocking on for an hour and a half now!
more deep breaths...

Hooray! :T RAC FINALLY arrived, being towed home... . I do rather hope they would have made it within their 45 minutes if it had been me on my own at a closed service station in the dark! An hour and a half! Not exactly in the middle of nowhere either....
Ah well, I'm staying calm remember??:rotfl:

How tedious! I want to go back to just having a bicycle0 -
Sorry that you have had a night of it - we had a similar problem with a new car once (about 15 years ago, mind) and we were about 200 miles away from home when it happened. I had a baby, and was pregnant, and I too was trying hard to keep my blood pressure levels in check. I think we had had the car for less than 3 weeks at the time
