How annoying to have put pounds on...alhtough is probably muscle which as everyone knows is heavier than fat!!

I'm on an emergency 6 week mission from 6th Sept.

I'm off to Germany for a week with my parents on Saturday and then on my return I've about 6 weeks til I go off on a big holiday which is going to involve lots of physical exercise so I need to be fit fit fit.

My gym buddy is a big fan of inches. Whereby you measure yourself all over and then you can gauge success (or lack of) as well as the scales. We did measure our calves when we got our cleats for spinning as we didn't want muscly calves that didn't fit into knee high boots.... i found that really depressing though so didn't even measure my waist or hips!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Creeping out of lurkdom yet again - you'll be trying to get rid of me soon!!

Have you measured yourself Cheery? I did on day 1 of shred because i was advised that i might not lose much weight because of muscle gain but that i was likely to lose inches! I've not measured again yet because i managed to pick up the lergy at V festival at the weekend and so i've not done shred for a week now! Hopefully i'll feel better over the weekend and pick it up again!

Did i mention my mum had ordered it? She did day one and was in agony (this was on Tues) and she's not braved it again since - i told her off!

Good luck with the avoiding cake, you're much better than me if you manage it :D

Ooh, where are you off to Makeup?? Sounds intruiging!

Been to hospital this morning, blood tests showed my thyroid is apparently not far off being back to normal now, all by itself! :rotfl: so I just have to stay calm (apparently) to avoid aggrivating it all over again, and see if it goes away (not the whole thyroid, just the pesky misbehaviour)

At the office now, just printing off a chapter to trawl through. A computer has appeared on my desk! But it's not connected to the printer...

Would quite like to be at home today, but Mr Daffs is grumpy and full of cold, and somehow ill people seem to take up the entire house on days like that :rotfl: So I'm at work, which always makes me want to eat :o Might sit in the park, or the museum cafe (oops, that involves food and spending money! D'oh!)

Good news on the money front, checked quickly this morning and I've been paid £162 for the last of my transcribing work! :j :j :j :j so that means along with leftovers from wages, I should be able to pay £200 to Mr Daffs this month, taking the total up to £850 (and leaving only £310!) :j :j :j Fees have only got two months left to run as well, and after that I'll have an extra £70 a month, plus whatever else I can scrape together.

Also worked out van maintenance costs - if I put away £30 a month (which I can afford to do) I'll have more than enough for my half of insurance, breakdown, Tax etc, plus £100 for my half of MOT, plus a bit extra for assorted extras throughout the year :j :j :j I'm enjoying this being in control!! :rotfl:

Anyway, must collect chapter from the printer and then actually do something with it. I suspect my sunny mood will disappear pretty darn quickly once that happens :o

Oh, and yes, I did measure myself makeup! Well, my waist at least etc - 33 inches at the beginning (I think!) then down to 31, and now back up to 32 again... :o

    Morning Cheery,

Well done on all the finance things. I need to be more organised, bad month this month and sailing close to the wind again until Tuesday. Now this cake business. Do you think actually the extra inch could be due to the pancakes? You are a bad influence, I have been using your recipe and so far this week I have had strawberries and pancakes for breakfast one day, spinach mushroom and ricotta pancakes for tea one day Oh and just my favourite pancake with lemon juice, just because I could. Now I need to :j :j too :)

Hi hanb, no we're never sick of you! Get out of lurkdom this instant!! I missed a few days out, and it's difficult to get back into but once you do it's worth it! Keep on at your mum - my sister just ordered it and hers should be arriving today!

Lol Cherisong, the extra inch is most definitely to do with the pancakes! :rotfl: Well, actually, that's not strictly true, I think if it was *only* the pancakes then there wouldn't be a problem, but every day this week I've had at least 2 chocolate bars :o plus at the wedding last weekend I had two GIANT home made scones, plus 2 pieces of ginger cake, 2 pieces of pudding, and three pieces of wedding cake, oh, and two cakes at the WI in the morning before I went. So you can kind of see what's going on, and it's not at all surprising! :rotfl:

So the pancakes themselves are actually fairly innocent in comparison! :rotfl:

Currently tempted though, only been looking at the darn PhD for about 5 minutes and already I'm wound up, cross, and feeling completely helpless and useless! :(

Bah, I just wrote a reply and it vanished!

Basically saying possibly it was the pancakes, but I reckon they're pretty innocent compared to the 2 giant home made scones, 2 pieces of ginger cake, 2 pieces of WI cake, 2 lots of pudding and 3 pieces of wedding cake I ate on last Saturday alone... :rotfl:

Currently stomping foot at PhD and very much MORE in need of cake, you see, this is how it happens! Pah!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: well, it is just one day in many you can always revert to being good whenever you fancy it. No harm in indulging from time to time. As long as it isnt every day. You are doing better than me at least you are shredding. And on top of having been poorly I am impressed.

I, too, am sitting at a desk trying to be inspired to write a report. I keep being distracted by the red kites outside the window. If I wasnt waiting for a Fed Ex parcel I would have given up and gone shopping by now. That is if I had any money I would.

I have just activated Avatars and I love yours it is so .............. well..........cheery.
