I look proper daft all the time LT! :rotfl:

Wow cherisong, you have red kites outside your window?? I'm so jealous!! :T

It was quite a cheery day when we took that pic - you may notice (don't know how clear it is it's so small!) there's a small cup of tea in there somewhere :) Not my garden sadly, but a very cheery one nonetheless!

Yes Cheery, I live in an area that has lots of red kites and there is a red kite feeding station not far from where i live. I have even managed to scare them out of trees when walking in the forest with Moo. There are also low flying fighter jets too and I can sometimes see the pilots they are that low, havent seen HRH William yet though. Although a friend did see him in the cafe near to her not so long ago.

I am very lucky to live here

  • Morning - what a lot of lovely thing going on here!

I've never been privilidged to watch red kite - wow! We've all the other types of bird here - and lucky to have an owl which hunts in the field outside the house most days.

Popped in cuppa in hand! x

I have also popped in cuppa in hand. Looking for pancakes! I love owls. You are very lucky if you can watch it hunting. Wow to you too. I just find that if you take the time to appreciate what is around there can be lots of Wow moments in most peoples lives

hi cheery, was it you who was after a sewing machine?
they're showing what looks like a pretty good one in Lidl for next week, it's £50-60 but i think it looks like it has loads of sewing options on it.

No, it wasn't me, but thanks anyway! Was it perhaps makeup (although surely she didn't sew those lovely cushions by hand??) or was it cherisong?? What a mystery!

I've got a cuppa too :coffee:

Trying to calm down after a minor altercation with the DVLA (but I've already moaned about it in Fay's diary so I won't do it here too!).

Pancakes for lunch I reckon! :rotfl:

Cherisong, you're right, if you slow down and look there's plenty of 'wow' things that happen every day. I can't remember who said it, but I remember reading somewhere a while back 'be still and the world will turn itself inside out to entertain you'. Even the tiniest things can be beautiful.

Couple of things to do this afternoon - cheery trip to a HUGE place selling locks and keys (see, how sad is that getting all excited about it, but I reckon if you've got to go somewhere you may as well find something cheery about it! :rotfl:) to get another key for the van before we lose the only one we have. Also a mini trip to the garden centre (must go while it's raining, had to come straight home again last time because I couldn't park in the car park it was so full! In fact, it was so full I kind of got swept in, and could barely get back out again in my big old van! (it's very small, all wonky, with no parking lines, and people had parked everywhere!)

Oh, must remember to Shred later too - and I got Persuasion DVD out of the library for a bit of sneaky girly viewing this evening while Mr Daffs is out tonight :rotfl:

Pah to stupid household appliances beeping for attention!

I love online library renewal :j :j Online library ordering is pretty addictive too :j :j

I've got the evening to myself, and vowing not to spend it all idly wandering around the internet :rotfl: So far I've finished planning the restructure of my chapter, and finished writing the second section. Only two more sections to go - one tomorrow and one on Monday. Mouse bites and all that :rotfl:

Then I've tidied up - not like Mrs R over on Hypno's thread  Nope, just 15 mins in the bedroom hanging clothes up and sorting a wash to put on tomorrow, 15 mins in the living room, took all the sofa cushions off and brushed underneath (the hoover's broken), brushed the windowsill (yes, it really was bad enough to need brushing! :rotfl:), brushed the floor and the carpet, shook all the cushions and blankets etc :T Then 15 mins in the kitchen, finishing the washing up, tidying the table, sweeping the floor, and taking all the PhD related stuff upstairs out of the way. Everything looks much better now! :T (And yes, I do set the timer :o)

Also put some bread on - haven't made bread for AGES and ages, should be ready about 9.30 just in time for a little snack with the blackberry jam we made yesterday! :j :j :j

Next on the list is repotting the redcurrant, but since it's going pretty dark out there now  and it's also REALLY windy and looks like rain, I might leave that til the morning :rotfl:

After that on the list is the Dreaded Shred! Day 19!! And I'm TRYING to eat less cake :o Of course I had some at the WI this morning, but none other than that, and none yesterday, and only a tiny mini bit on Thursday... Trying not to stuff my face more generally too, and to drink less tea :o Anyway, after tomorrow I'll be able to move up to level 3

After Shred is to sit down with my sewing and the Persuasion DVD (and a cuppa, of course) :coffee:

That would be I. Did see the machine on the internet but thought it was this week, went in today but they had none. I looked in their leaflet and it isnt listed for next week. What day do they get them in do you know LT? Where I used to live was an Aldi and they got their stock on Thursday and sometimes you had to go to queue up before opening time when they had good offers.

Well done Cheery on reducing the cakes. I think I am eating your share.

Can I ask a question? Well I am going to anyway but thought it was polite to ask. Blackberry jam! Would you share your recipe. Also do you do anything special with the berries to rid them of crawlies. In the past when making pies I have just rinsed them well and then cooked in pies etc. But I read on the old style board that you should soak them in salt water to kill the bugs. I did that with last weeks batch and ruined the berries, there were inedible really! So I have been out again today and picked lots more. I really want to make some jam for presents.

  • They have a few in the lidl nearest to me- Is there any way they can order them in for you?
