Now he's working on the blinds for the van, and I'm running a bath :j :j Not because I *want* to, mind you, but because I *have* to, you see, because I need to seal round the edge of the bath, and I'm reliably informed that the *only* way to do it is to fill the bath with water first, because if you do it when empty, the first time you get in the bath later, it'll pull the seal off. And there's no earthly point filling the bath with cold water, and if you're going to fill it with hot water you might as well get in it and have a laze around first :rotfl:

Did I justify that enough??? :j

I'm catching up &, while I know this didn't quite work out, I have to say it's the most compelling justification for a bath that I've seen in ages :T

Thanks honeybear, it was rather a good one, wasn't it?? :rotfl: I must remember it for future use :rotfl:

Just been out gardening in the dark :T Well, it wasn't dark when I started, but I tend to get a bit engrossed, and because it's all next to the street, and under a streetlight, I don't really notice it's gone dark til I stand up properly and look round :o Repotted the redcurrant (finally!) - used some of my own home made compost in the bottom of the tub and topped it up with shop bought stuff :T Fortunately it was going dark, so I couldn't really see what state my compost was in :o I avoided the bits that were still whole banana peels! :rotfl:

All scratched and muddy now cos I was chopping up old roses that I lopped down a couple of weeks ago, and cos it went dark I couldn't really see what I was doing :rotfl:

Mr Daffs has just got in the bath - which means I've got the kitchen to myself, which means I have to do Shred! Day 20  That means I have to move up a level tomorrow!  (although I must say I'm mightily sick of level 2 now! :rotfl:)

I really hope you can tell the difference between you & old roses, sweetie :p

And tell Mr Daffs to get out of the bath - your need is greater than his ;)

  • Well done on gardening and shred- you don't have to move up a level, but you could see and then report back for all of us who are too scared to do level 3 :)

I feel a bit like a battered old rose right now honeybear! :rotfl:

Mr Daffs is out now - would have got him to leave the water in if I'd have had any sense! :o But I didn't - oh well! :rotfl:

DAy 20 done :j :j And Bob, I will be moving up tomorrow, partly cos I get bored if I have to do the same thing for too long! :rotfl: Will do level 3 tomorrow and report back for all you scaredicats :rotfl:

Did I tell you my sister got Shred yesterday - we did it at the same time, me puffing and panting, her 75 miles away - I presumed puffing and panting too. I got a text afterwards saying 'I enjoyed that!' :rotfl:

sounds like you've had a much nicer day than me, OH was working a 12 hr shift. I find it strange that for 30odd years i lived alone and never worried about it, or felt lonely, but now i have OH i really don't like spending the whole day on my own. sad hey?
i finished the last of the cushion covers for my two sofas this weekend, just have to recover the bit on the wooden frame and the spare fabric (quite a lot really) can be put away. I'm thinking about turning into my mum and making matching arm covers for the sofa to help with the wear, but i'm not sure if that's the first step on a slippery slope into middleagedhood.
we did go to the gym tonight, nothing as strenous as the shred but i'm pleased i didn't come up with another excuse not to go.

Maybe you just miss him in a soppy romantic way LT?? :) I'm exactly the same when Mr Daffs is away but then I've never lived on my own :)

:rotfl: at turning middle aged :rotfl: It'll be doilies next! :rotfl: But I know what you mean - I took our sofa cushions off yesterday to brush underneath  and the front bits are almost black! :o :rotfl: I did consider for half a second suggesting we took our shoes off when curling up on it, or cleaning it or something, then thought, nah! :rotfl: Well done on the gym! :j :j

    Just making rhubarb scones! :j

Hello, just popping over the fence to see how you are all doing. Thanks LT, unfortunately I am in Cardiff on Thursday so out of the house 7am not back til after 8. Typical. Hopefully they will have one left the day after. Fed up asking my friend for my machine back. I have a sneaky susp suspis suspicion that her OH has sold it on ebay and she is too afraid to tell me. It was old but it was a bequeathment from a very dear friend so has some sentimental value.

Oooooo Rhubarb scones - yum scrum, pigs ahem. Chuck one over the fence when they are finished.

<lobs scones to Cherisong, and everyone else> Very tasty they were too! :j

Do you really think your friend's husband has sold your machine??  How absolutely scandalous! Maybe you should ask her outright - perhaps saying 'have you still got my machine, I really need one, I'm going to buy a new one if you haven't got it' - that gives her the option of saying no - then you can ask her to pay for your new one. Can't believe anyone would do that!

We've just lopped a tree down in the garden! It's only a small garden, a giant conifer (well, not that giant, but too big!) TOok up too much space, water, sunlight, and is just where i want to sit when we've got the other door open. Took no effort at all - ex-ex-mr daffs lopped it with the chain saw :j :j :j :j Got an entire garden full of confier branches now though

And all it cost me was a cup of tea, a jar of blackberry jam, 3 scones, and some careers advice :rotfl:
