HOw goes it with the car? We didn't get to Hoy but had a nice adventure anyway - just back and collapsed on sofa in a heap!
Suns shining here so *must* go do something!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Ooh, hope you're enjoying the sunshine!! :j :j Hoy isn't going anywhere I suspect! :rotfl:
Car viewing was very exciting - mostly because the owners had a PET PYGMY HEDGEHOG!!!! :j :j :j Which we got to have a hold o and a play with :j :j :j We have a bit of a thing for hedgehogs here - and so finding one there was Very Exciting Indeed!! :j :j
Oh, yes, the car, that was what we went for! :rotfl: (fortunately we didn't discover the presence of the hedgehog until we'd been on the test drive or we might not have bothered) :rotfl:
Car was very cheery, all bits and pieces present and correct, clean and well looked after, blah blah blah, seems to be big enough to kip in (just about) - still need to figure out if it's big enough to get a large harp in...
Basically, it's ours if we want it, and we can pick it up tomorrow :j :j
Only two probs... first one was we couldn't get the wiper to go fast in the rain - but we might have just missed a button or something. And apparently it turns out it's got the same engine as our old van- which means it's rather sluggish, struggles a bit, and involves an awful lot of changing up and down gears on hills etc (of which there are *lots* round here). I'd deal with it, but Mr Daffs was I think after something a little more powerful...
So we're just deciding. Feels a bit rotten to have found something so perfect and have it turn out not *quite* so perfect after allBut on the plus side, it's well within the budget, so we'd be able to tint the windows and stick a large red flame down the side :rotfl: :rotfl:
(Day 10 of Shred done this morning! :j but so excited about the car I didn't go to Boots and stand on the scales, and have now spent the entire day eating ice cream :rotfl: so won't be updating figures just yet!) :rotfl:0 -
Ah, that old harp question...I never buy a vehicle without checking that first...@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0

:rotfl: you lot! :rotfl:
should have measured the darn thing first - but it's not ours! Mr Daffs is in a band with a friend who plays one - obviously he has his own car, but it'd just be handy if we could fit it in ours too like we could in the van. To be honest, it was kind of a thing to go and think about while we thought about other things, if you see what I mean...
Think my head is possibly going to explode from trying to make a decisionI just don't know how to do it!!! Pretty much boils down to Mr daffs and the power question... But there's something SOOOOOO appealing about having it over and done with today...
(and they were just so cheery!) Want to let them know within next hour or two really either way. Pah Pah Pah!!!
Might end up just tossing a coin - but then I don't want to have to hear complaints about the lack of power for the next 5 years so I'm absolutely NOT going to insist!
Have emailed about another one that looks cheery (and is slighty bigger, and more powerful). This is the third time it's been listed, and it's not yet met the reserve price any time  If the reserve is £100 higher than what it didn't meet last time, it's right at the edge of our budget, but we could justify it because cheaper tax, fuel costs etc. However, it's 65 miles away, and I'm NOT going to see it if there's no chance we're even close, so I've emailed to say that and just waiting to see if we get a reply...
<yawn>
Got 2 parties to go to tonight :j Haven't decided if one or both - opposite sides of town, the closest one will start/finish later, has loads of people I see all the time, and is about 20 mins walk away. Mr Daffs is going to this one. The other one is about 1 hr 15 mins walk away (in opposite direction to the other one), will start earlier, and has a few folk I haven't seen for ages. I'll probably land up at the closer one, regardless of whether I go to the further one first, so just need to decide if I can be bothered!
(Well in need of a drink though - and not tea this time :rotfl)0 -
Well, decision's made - we're having the berlingo :j :j :j
Taken us all day to decide that, and I don't think Mr Daffs is entirely convinced it's a great idea, but he's said yes too many times for me to risk asking agin so we'll just have to hang the consequences :rotfl:
Just took my brave tablet and rang them up (they said to make them an offer, but we know pretty much what they'll take I think) - and their answer phone is on! :rotfl: So now have to put the kettle on, CALM DOWN, NOT get Mr Daffs to change his mind again, and ring back in a minute! :rotfl: Might leave a message when I ring back, then we can't back out
(Mr daffs is all for driving back to Huddersfield to pick it up tonight :rotfl: Not entirely sure that's wise - or that they'll want us visiting that late, but first thing in the morning an exciting trip is hopefully in the offing! :j :j :j)
Fingers crossed - of course they can still refuse our offer, it can still get stolen tonight, and some other calamity that prevents us from having it can still happen, but hopefully we're nearly there and I can soon go back to being woefully ignorant and STOP TALKING ABOUT CARS!!! :j :j :j :j :rotfl:0 -

:T:T:T:T:T:T:T ooooo well done, hope to hear all about it tomorrow. Guinea Pigs and all. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Lol at that fab smiley honeybear, it's great!! :rotfl: That's just how I feel - proper giddy and overexcited!
Rang and left a message - I was a bit weedy and said 'we'd like to offer this, but if you don't want to accept it let me know and we can talk about it' :rotfl: - 'm not a very good haggler!! :rotfl: BUt they were so nice!!
(I think I convinced Mr Daffs when I said that if we went back to collect it, we might get another play with the hedgehog... :rotfl:)0
