ooh, enjoy! You are a social guru. I must take a leaf out of your book. And great to hear that you wear heels as well as wellies.
Oh, I forgot to mention I was at a seminar in Cardiff last week and there was a woman in wellies (really, a high powered political seminar and she had wellies on) which had obviously never seen a sliver of mud. I thought of you!
Perhaps she was a closet Cheery and Pippi fan? :T:T
Or really good at cleaning her wellies??? :rotfl::rotfl:But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
:rotfl:
I'll have you know my wellies occasionally do see a little bit of mud
Maybe I should do my Monday presentation in wellies
WI anyone?0 -
Oops, I read that back earlier and posted to say that it wasnt the no mud bit that reminded me of you, it was the wearing wellies "just because I can" bit. Seems not to have posted though.
Have a cake for me at WI pleaseSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Have brought a rather tasty marmalade cake home, so you can all have some of that
Friend's here, eating cake, off into the garden once Mr Daffs has finished hijacking my friend for musical purposes0 -
Right then.
Friend gone, cake munched, garden dug, and tea drunkTired but quite satisfied now! :j :j
Just taking Mr Daffs' round to mate's house for transporting to tonight's gig, then I'm here on my own this evening :T Not sure what to do! Tidy up first I think, and a nice bath later, and perhaps the dreaded Shred, maybe pilates, some washing, general pottering I think0 -
Right, I'm back now, and bloody exhausted
Probably going to sleep at 4 this morning then getting up at 9 for the WI might have had something to do with it
:rotfl:
Just dropped Mr Daffs off at friend's house, was going to come back and set to with the tidying up, but actually the sun's come out and it's gorgeous out there now, so going to put a jumper on, the mp3 player on, and get out in the garden again for a while I think :T :T
(was considering a run, but I've been running the last two days, don't want to overdo itHalf considered a bike ride, but already stiff from gardening and running, so considered again :rotfl:)
I've got the heating on for a bath later
Feeling pretty sorry for myself todaySo I'm going to take it pretty easy tonight - no 'have to' list or anything. Just nice and gentle. Being outside feels right now, so that's what I'll do, and the washing up can stew in its own filth for another hour or so
I will do it later though, there's not that much, and everything looks so much better when it's done.
And I can't think of anything more cheery than a nice bath later - I treated myself to a little yankee candle earlier, the very smallest one (still £1.65 ), called 'beautiful day' so I'll light that too
Right, best get outside before I talk myself out of it and fall asleep on the sofa instead :rotfl:0 -
Well, I did it :j :j Had a lovely time outside in the last of the sunshine, then thought I was so tired I was going to fall asleep standing up :rotfl: So put on some rock and roll to do the washing up, and got so carried away dancing that I forgot I was tired
So I did some cutting and sticking, and put together my photo project thing for the office :j :j
(and then I *was* so tired that I did nearly fall asleep standing up :rotfl:)
Anyway, sun's shining, and we're off to an industrial museum open day where Mr Daffs and one of his bands are singing a few songs, and we're all goin to have a picnic
Just trying to decide if I can be bothered taking the bike... Mr Daffs is going straight on to somewhere else - I can get a lift back with someone else, but it might be an ideal opportunity to get on my bike...
It's 12 miles, not tooooo far for an afternoon of pootling, there's no rush (although there is a rather big hill at the end!)
Thing is, if I take the bike, I'm stuck then cos it won't fit in the other person's car so I can't back outI suppose we'd be leaving around 3, so I'd be home by 5 anyway, still plenty of time to get ready for London tomorrow.
Right - off to make sure tyres aren't flat (although that'd be a nice excuse!)

You sound like you had a lovely evening in the end ... tho I must say, a dishwasher is really helping me with that

Thats very impressive :j:j

also sounds fantastic, tho I'd have reservations about the bike ride there and bikemind you, you have a *lot* of energy. Whatever you decide on the bike-stuff, I bet you have a brilliant time.
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
And you forgot about writing your blog after all that. I couldnt sleep and was reading blogs at 4am this morning. Yours was very cheery as your name suggests. Those paving slabs are humungous! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. They are indeed humungous cheri, that's why I'm having to get a man with a winch to get them out! :rotfl:
WEll, I took the bike, ate the picnic, and came home in the car:rotfl: :rotfl:
Utterly lovely day though :j Lots of picnic and chatting, a bit of singing, lots of looking at steam enginesAnd a ride on a little train
But then I got a cinder in my eye, and the darn thing still hurts now, even after much dunking of eye i plastic beaker of water, and fake crying, and moaning
:rotfl:
Home now, but stupidly haven't got any milk, so NO TEA!  Just having a mini sit down, then out for milk, then making sure everything's ready for tomorrow's trip to London (including practicing scary presentation again) I've got the water on for a bath (I didn't have one last night), so I'm anticipating quite a calm evening!0
