    Thanks you lovely lot :D:D:D

Got the actual letter today too - addressed to 'Miss Daffs' - don't they realise it's Dr Daffs now?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :D

(also had examiners report in it - with external saying 'Miss Daffs has missed out 10 references from the sample chapter I checked, and should include these before submitting the final version blah blah blah' - but he'd ticked the 'pass with no corrections' box so I ain't making any changes at all) :D (and oops for missing out all those refs, it wasn't deliberate, and the other examiner didn't even notice! :rotfl:)

:j :j Going out for tea on Friday night to celebrate :D

<yawn> Long day, and off to London tomorrow! Best get my act together I suppose...

Big congratulations and Hoorahs for Dr Cheery DAffs extraordinaire. Yes we are all very very proud of you. Now is that champagne on ice and I hope that it is a proper high tea you have planned. Nothing less would do (well maybe a full on restaurant/pub meal might be good too)

LOL Translation reads "I need to justify my existence (money paid) and show that I am more awake than my colleague - however, Dr Daffs will have my guts for garters if I make any more fuss so I concede that she wins."

    Very cheery news!
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Thanks :j Oh, you are a lovely lot this evening! :D (and always, of course :D)

London tomorrow - have printed everything I need(forgot in the office so had to do at home - pah!!), and have got a bit of a picnic to save on expenses (work are on a budget too! And they're so lovely I'd much rather help them out :D But that doesn't stretch to paying for my own dinner while out and about - so picnic it is :rotfl:)

Also have Oyster card from trip with mother - have checked and it's got £8.10 on it :T Can print off statement and claim back what I use from work too :D So planning on not spending much at all! :j :j

Dr Daffs, Dr Cheery or Dr Cheery Daffs, Hmm cant decide which sounds best.
Hope that you enjoyed your meal with Mr Dr Daffs and your day in London. Thanks for the comments on mine. Very proud of you.

Also a bit squiffy from champagne have been in Cardiff so only just had time to celebrate. Next glass is for you! (any excuse) hic

Have 2 for me if it gives you an excuse cherisong! :j :j And an extra one for yourself - I'll make one of mine for you on Friday :D What excellent news for you! :j :j :j :j

Hmm, difficult choice on the name :rotfl: :rotfl: On my 'other forum home' I'm known generally as Daffs, so over there I'm Dr Daffs :D But over here I'm rather splendidly mostly known as Cheery, so perhaps Dr Cheery is more appropriate :D

Been to London today - used my cheery Oyster Card and work will pay :D Had a rather nice day with my 2 bosses - both of them were in quite high spirits and the whole day was quite festive! And I took a picnic AND got some of the leftover lunch, so managed not to buy anything on the way home (other than a caramel egg, but we won't count that :D)

Also transfered £12 to my Patchwork Fund to start it off :j :j :j I said originally I would go to York 2 or 3 days a week, I budget for train fares for 3 days every week, but mostly only go 2. So I've transfered the spare £12 from this week to the Patchwork Fund.

I'm also keeping track of everything I'm saving this year (including Patchwork Fund, Holiday Fund, Palace Fund, Emergency Fund) - and am aiming for a total of £8150 over the lot of them in 2011 - eek! That's 41% of my take home pay :D I'll be well impressed if I manage it! :D

Anyway, so I'm counting the total of what I ADD to those funds, not what's left in them at the end of the year (because obviously with the palace fund I was meant to be spending it, ditto with holiday fund!), unless I poach it for something it wasn't planned for :D The idea is for me to see just how much I can save over the year.

Anyway, so far I have £1620 out of £8150, which is 19.9% of the total! :j :j (I think, unless my maths is wrong - quite likely:rotfl:) :j :j That feels quite nice - I think I"ll add it to my signature :D
