You sound really close to the end of all the PhDing Cheery - and your Palace sounds absolutely lovely.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I'm getting there KC! :j :j :j Still a fair bit of tidying up to do, but getting there :j :j
And palace is lovely
And will be even more lovely when it's all done and dusted
Was very much admiring the new wall in the kitchen (apparently that's the only wall that's going to be yellow :rotfl:) - Mr Daffs has ripped the curtains in half lengthways too (they've only been closed once in 20 years, so doesn't matter that they don't entirely fit! :rotfl:), so they take up less room at the side of the window, so the whole thing feels a lot more spacious :T :T
Working at home today, best crack on. Lovely and sunny in the attic this morning :j :j And Mr Daffs is out this evening, so an evening of PhD awaits me. Gosh I'm so looking forward to when I never have to say that again! :rotfl:
Have a good one all, hope you get a bit of sunshine

Morning Cheery - your shiny new kitchen decor sounds lovely
It is gloriously sunny this morning, enjoy working in the sunny attic! Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
i love a yellow kitchen! always a good bright sunshiney colour.
wish i had lovely surprises like that when i get home but not sure i ever will. Hey ho Mr LT has many other talents so i'm not complaining.0 -
I think I'm only getting one yellow wall apparently! :rotfl: Ah well. Lots of space been cleared round the window too, so the whole thing looks ten times bigger. Hooray! :T
Been out for a walk in the sunshine, and had a wensleydale and cranberry pancake, and a pineapple-curd-with-malibu pancake (mum gave me a jar of this - it's absolutely luscious!). Back up in the attic again now, must crack on...0 -
Oh my god, those pancakes sound WONDERFUL! And I'm shouting and I don't care :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I was pretty much jumping up and down too KC, so don't worry
Marvellous stuff. In fact, I might just have another one after my tea
(which might, er, also involve pancakes
I'm NOT lifting a finger round here until the PhD is done, remember, and Mr Daffs is out this evening, and cooking would also involve washing up, which would involve PhD avoidance, which is NOT happening at the minute, so pancakes it is
)
Did I do enough justifying there?? :rotfl: :rotfl:
Finishing work for the day in a minute, had a pretty productive day actually and got everything done I wanted to :T Rather satisfying when that happens, and restores my faith in myself :rotfl:
So the plan for the evening is to stop for an hour, have some pancakes and a cuppa, and perhaps watch a small cheery thing on the tv for half an hour, then at 7pm I'm going to settle myself in on the sofa with PhD, and put the fire dvd on (literally a dvd with a log fire that fills the screen :rotfl: sounds absolutely bizarre, but actually quite soothing! :rotfl:). Then I'm going to work for 3 hours on my conclusions chapter, and then spend another hour or so doing the final niggly editing bits on chapters 3, 6, 7 and 8, and possibly 5 if there's time.
Then I'm going to curl up and go to sleep
Tomorrow is similar - working at home, plenty to do, and then a few hours of PhD in the evening. I'd like to have the conclusions finished tomorrow evening, so I can send to supervisors for a very quick read through while I'm off doing fieldwork on Friday.
Then I'll put the whole thing together over the weekend, probably work on the conclusions a little more, do some daft formatting of pictures etc, and write the scary email setting out the changes I've made (and hoping to goodness I don't find any I *haven't* made ), and then, fingers crossed, that's it...
(obviously it's never quite as easy as that, and I'm expecting supervisors to find gaping holes in conclusions chapter and have to spend another few days on it, but we're getting there!)0 -
Wow, really sounds like you're getting there!!!
Hurrah and how exciting to have the end in sight!
:j
I'm considering all the colours to paint my flat in later on this year. I'm not supposed to decorate for a year as it is a new build and that allows all the shrinkage cracks to come out (although touch wood .....so far none have appeared...)
I'm thinking of a mixture of yellow and grey (or tumeric and slate in my more pretentious moments...) I must get some samples and try it all out.
Tonight I'm going to be chilling at home and hopefully sewing some more of a bathmat that I'm making out of old t-shirts.I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction

That sounds exciting makeup, do we get a picture when it's done??
(the flat and the bathmat!)
Just edited chapter 6 while watching the simpsons :rotfl: :rotfl: Also sorted out the margins/formatting requirements, which have changed since I submitted the first time round :rotfl: We're allowed to print double sided now (in fact it's encouraged, apparently - last time it was forbidden!!). Means that margins are huge on both sides though - I'm currently up to 60 pages and there's only 2 chapters (out of nine!) in there!
Anyway - so in the final version so far there's 20,922 words and counting
Going to put the kettle on, then switch the tv off, put the fire dvd on, and crack on with conclusions for a couple of hours :T :T0 -
Well doen cheery!
xx
Woo hoo to parcel type delightful joy!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
