Your post-PhD plans sound fab. I love the idea of Mr Daffs having a cracker stash somewhere for 'gloom emergencies'

Making lemon curd is really good.. takes patience so it's a lovely calm thing to do, lots of stirring. And yes lots of butter!
Ooh I got my little notebook to carry around yesterday - already got a few scribbles in it - thanks for the idea

Re: Lemon Curd. Best not to dwell on the butter, you're right. Even better not to dwell on the sugar!

Loving it. You two are really made for each other

Aaah!
Bless him, what an awesome chap! :j
On another note, I would love some lemon curd on toast right now... :rotfl:“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

LOVE LOVE LOVE lemon curd and lime curd so I bet pineapple curd is just as nice.
Like the christmas cracker interlude. I have just posted something over on MGs thread about doing little romantic/thoughtful things for OHs so this is right up there with them. Nothing cheers my heart more than a little unexpected kind gesture. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I love the idea of having a cracker stash for gloom emergencies :rotfl: :rotfl: No idea where he got this one from - I'm suspecting it just didn't get put away with the decorations (or he went down to the cellar to dig it out?!). He is indeed one of a kind, and we are made for each other :j :j :j Yesterday he came home with a large stash of Gardeners World magazines from 2006 that he'd dug out of the skip outside the charity shop :rotfl:
Long day today - went over to near blackpool to do some fieldwork for work, but sadly couldn't see the sea for all the fog! And it was freezing, so didn't feel like I could drag colleague over the sand dunes to get closer :rotfl: (we did have tea and a scone in a cafe though, of course :T) Ludicrously packed train on the way home though.
Meant to be PhDing tonight, but I'm absolutely exhausted
I have done a couple of hours at least on the train today though, so I might just get an early night, and spend the weekend on it. I'm even contemplating NOT going to the Women's Institute tomorrow morning - that's how close I am to the end! but that might be rather too much of a shocking thought, so we'll see about that one :rotfl: 0 -
Well, no phd done
And now I'm about to curl up and go to sleep
See you in the morning probably for an awful lot of updates on how well (or not) the final leg of phD is progressing..... Night night! xx 0 -
You really must be exhausted! Sorry you couldn't see the sea - its a *very* cheery sight at Blackpool, being so broad and flat and all

You've done a couple of hours on the train - call it a night now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I was actually up the road from Blackpool, rather than in the town itself KC, otherwise I would have probably managed seeing the sea properly! :rotfl:
This morning's question is... do I go to the WI, or do I send Mr Daffs to the WI for treats and crack on with PhD??? I must say I'm inclined towards the latter  If I go, I'll end up there for an hour or so, then ambling round the charity shops, then it'll be lunchtime, and I won't get started til 2pm so I'll be really frustrated and cross with myself. Even if I lounge around having breakfast, I can get started by 10, then I can get 2 or 3 hours in before lunchtime.
Sounds like that's decided then! :rotfl:0
