Cheery, that sounds completely miserable - maybe you need to go back to them, and put it the way you've just put it on here?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Pippi! Hello! :j :j :j Lovely to see you lass
And yes, I WILL finish it before the holidays :j :j :j Might have to do some minor adjusting of it *after* the holidays, but I will have got to the end before I come to visit
:j :j
Mags - strangely, the CD is one I picked up at a jumble sale before I started my degree, so about 13 years ago now. It's not something I ever would have paid good money for, it's one of these relaxing noise things, called 'aboriginal', so kind of nondescript, quite low music, with digeridoos over the top occasionally, and the odd bit of drumming. That makes it sound awful! I've used it for so long that I really associate it with working now, I put it on and it's a sign to concentrate :rotfl: I never use it for relaxing or anything. And I find 40 mins is a nice amount of time to work before a break.
I'm not much good with any other music, I'd rather be in a cafe or on a train with lots of hustle and bustle in the background. Must make a copy of CD, not sure what I'd do if it ever broke! :rotfl:0 -

Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Hooray for snow! :j :j :j Although I do hope there's not so much that we can't get there this year! Developing a back up Plan B involving trains and hire cars and bicycles :rotfl: so we'll be there by hook or by crook!
Had a lovely day today, me and colleague did presentation and facilitated big group session for 60-odd professional types - rather scary but we were well prepared, and had comments about how well organised we wereHelped that we bribed them with dolly mixtures and biscuits :rotfl: :rotfl:
Managed to leave at 2.30 too, so got home about 5, hooray! :j :j :j0 -

LT I'm so with you on that. I've only been once too for that reason! Love a bit of Dancing on Ice but sit with my top lip over my teeth the whole time in case someone gets there's smashed!!!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Well, I managed a nicely elegant slide onto my backside in the little bit of snow we have here this morning
WI done, charity shops done (bought a new hat for 99p :T), and friends been round for lunch. About time I got on with some PhD I reckon!Maybe another cuppa first...
Money gone a little tiny bit to pot this month, just about £20 out of budget I think, but sometimes when that happens it's difficult not to lose control entirely and just stop counting  NO! Must remember to keep on top of things!
Paid on Tuesday, so will put holiday money away first (of course), then bills etc, then Christmas present money, then see what I've got left to spend before we go away - probably not much, but it'll leave me with enough to spend on holiday! :T
Speaking of which, trying to formulate a Plan B... I'm NOT driving 500 miles in scary snow on half close roads  But I am also NOT missing out on my holiday again. So we're having the train as a back up. I just need to figure out what that will mean when we get to Pippi's - anywhere near a bus route?? Might bring the foldy bicycles

Ooer .... when I was figuring out the Hebrides on public transport, the post vans still acted as buses - I'm not sure they still do, but it'd be worth checking. Good luck with that! Don't you have some crossover time? I'm sure Pippi would help out!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Pippi will pick you up
AND check out either train to aberdeen - then ferry up (and I'll pick you up) - probably cheapest option - remember there is probably a *spare* campervan here you can use - I was going to suggest it actually
Train to edinburgh and plane (pippi will pick you up) - flybe
Or nearest airport to kw - pippi will pick you up
The main thing is pippi will pick you up whatever.
And I've done a new diary - see you lot over there sometime
*nothing like a subtle hint* - all techical issues with the last one have been very well resolved.
KCyou were right - as were you daffs - storm in a plant pot.

Good grief! Thank youBut isn't he off the road?! Don't go through all the palaver of putting him back on for us! Plan is very much still to bring our little van, I'm just panicking about the snow! :rotfl: Been looking at the Kirkwall webcam this evening and getting all over-excited

Storm in a plant pot indeed :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Aren't they all?! :rotfl: :j :j for a new diary! Will pop over there immediatelyxxx
Plan is still to bring the car - will only abandon it if it's too unspeakably vile to drive, fingers crossed it'll be fine! :T :T Original plan was to drive up to wick in one day, kip in the van (!), then ferry at 9.30am - but I've now got the Monday off workand we're thinking it might be rather cold in the van :rotfl: so the latest plan is to drive to Inverness on Monday, stay with a friend who lives near there, then do the last 3 hours on Tuesday morning, get the ferry at lunchtime on Tuesday, and be with you by about 4pm - is that too early?! (we were originally planning to be there about lunchtime on Wednesday I think). Perfectly ok if it is, we'll shift it all back a day, was just trying to take advantage of an extra day off! :j :j
