Thanks Ruby! My mum's slowly working her way through the qualifications after she joined the sign language choir. All fun and games. I wasn't thinking of making a living out of it - but I already work with people who communicate without speech sometimes, and another way of joining in would be great to use with people who already use it. We'll see.
I did also, I seem to remember, promise myself trapeze lessons once the PhD was finished.... Narrowly avoided that last time as it started again only a few weeks after I finished it :rotfl: but we're getting perilously close now - can't wait! :j :j :j I don't even like heights very much :rotfl: but I SOOOOOo much want to be all elegant and flying through the air :j :rotfl:
Pippi - sounds like a huge writing fest is on for you too! I've got another 3 chapters to finish this week (although in reality they don't need *that* much doing to them), a new one to write (although quite a short one, and some of it will be stuff taken from the existing conclusions), then the conclusions to rewrite (the important bit, but I've been kind of adding stuff to the list of things to go in it for weeks now). Then a quick run through all of them, and then I'll be able to go on holiday :rotfl: :rotfl:

Scaring myself thinking about it this morning, got a headache alreadyMust just keep ploughing through one thing at a time...

One thing at a time sounds about right - there's a lot going on here! Which is nice, lovely in fact, but I wonder if you're quite up to it yet? Your dilemma about the casual job is like me with mystery shopping (tho that doesn't pay as well as your £10.69....) and all the free bingo and stuff that I no longer do - that time is precious, and better spent elsewhere, even if sometimes it brings in the odd hundred pounds .....
I hope the study goes well - keep going!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I thought of you when I was thinking about it KC with what you said about mystery shopping etc!
Just popped onto the internet cos I remembered it was pay day! :rotfl: (At least I *think* it is?! Last Friday?? Or is it last working day?? Ah, maybe it's the last working day... just popping over to internet bank to check...)0 -
Oh, so it's Tuesday
Still, did a little mini bit of adding up while I was over there...
There's £30 in the current account - and £12 train fare from yesterday due to come out of that - so £28. Also due £15 in expenses which should go in tomorrow, and I've got £20 in my purse. So altogether I've got £63.
Out of that has got to come:
£12 train tomorrow
£10.85 train Monday
£10.85 train Tuesday
£42.90
So that's about £20 left, and according to my budget that's got to see me through til the end of next week  But that's just food/fun. I won't *quite* manage it, but I won't be far off :j :j
Then when I *do* get paid, I'll be able to top up the holiday fund, put aside my Christmas presents fund, and that'll see me comfortably through til I get back off holidays - although I'll get paid again just before Christmas I think. Have to save that one for January rather than spending it all on holiday :rotfl:
So - only 2 more part time wages left
Right - will go and crack on now, promise0 -
Erm, 30 minus 12 is 18, not 28, sorry Cheery - and its right at the beginning of all those calculations!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Oh dear KC :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
You can see why I get in a muddle sometimes can't you??! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Ah well - that means £10 to last me til next Sunday then :rotfl:
(I know I get paid on Tuesday, but budget runs Mon-Sun, so I try to get to the end of the week without starting the next one if you see what I mean!)0 -
Sensible decision re the casual work I think - it can be very tempting to jump on any chance to make extra money, but you have to weigh up time and energy too.
Trapezing (trapezing?!) sounds amazing!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
