Hat doesn't really ring a bell I'm afraid - I think I was too focussed on cake for most of our visit
:rotfl:
Your concoction sounds fairly nice! Have you got any rosemary in the garden? It makes quite a good refreshing/ cleansing tea.
Totally understand not wanting to pinpoint where you are in public - that's pretty bad re your department!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Ooo is that the Valerie Worwood book. I swear by that book as it was recommended reading when I was training in Aromatherapy. Love it. Have used lots of the concoctions and think they are great.
Hope that you are feeling a little better now. I feel YUK, sore throat, streaming eyes and nose, achey, sore to touch. Unfortunately I cant be ill just found out I have to do a major presentation tomorrow! YikesSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Yep, that's the one cherisong. I love it :T Don't always have all the ingredients, but bimble through
Didn't know you were trained in aromatherapy! Do you use it often these days?
Sorry you're now feeling rotten, and having to do a presentation too - pah! Lots of paracetamol I say (or can you get someone else to do it for you???) Hope it's not too far away, and hope you can have a decent rest tonight.
I'm feeling better as the day progresses :T Not coughing half so much either, and that was only after one cup of magic tea! :T Might have another one before bed and we might even be able to sleep in the same room! :rotfl:
Squizz, I do have rosemary in the garden, strangely enough, never thought of making it into tea! I must confess to only just getting my head around herbal teas, I always *wanted* to like them, but never really did somehow
Anyway, I have managed quite impressively NOT to do my 4 hours of PhD today:rotfl: I did do one though - which is one more than all of the last 5 days put together :rotfl: Mr Daffs is off out in a bit, so guess what I'll be doing then?? :rotfl:

Ooo Echoe
I love that book. Yes I trained in aromatherapy about 10 years ago now. I dont get to use it as much as I would like with other people but I do try to incorporate as much as I can into my daily life. Hence the bicarb of soda and oils carpet freshener, wiping down clean windows with oil on newspapers etc. I also use it for my dog a lot. I did harbour an idea of being an alternative therapist for animals for a while. Never got round to the training though.
Cant get anybody else to do the presentation because my whole team is pulled out at the moment. We are all working long hours and days in the run up to a few important things happening next year. I will be presenting alongside my director who will be with me tomorrow so if my voice gives up I am sure she will help out. Sitting on sofa doing nothing much and feeling sorry for myself. Glad your cough tea is working, it is amazing how quickly some things work. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Ooh, I'm going to do aromatherapy when I can...was going to do the course in Jan, but think I will be swapping for sports massage instead, and do it in September again.
Good smelling times - and I've go that book as well - it's ace: I'm going to mix some face moisturiser tomorrow! Please call me 'Pickle'

OOh ladies I love the sound of all your smelly stuff. On the subject of moisturiser, I can't beleive how wintry my skin is. The flakes are clinging on for dear life but I've given my face a good old scrub tonight with some Origins stuff that was kicking about. I'll be eight houring it tonight too. Good job I sleep alone!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Ooh, I forgot about the face stuff, I do it so often now I'd forgotten it was from that book! :rotfl: I use a scaled down version of her face scrub too :T Just a teaspoon of ground almonds, teaspoon of (gosh, can't remember what it is! Wheatgerm possibly? Or something similar?), mix with a bit of sweet almond oil, and a few drops of lavender, in a little pot, and use as a face scrub - although after a few days it's less 'scrub' and more gentle, which suits, because it means that I only get properly 'scrubbed' one every ten days or so
Suits me fine
And I stopped using moisturiser and instead use about 3 drops of sweet almond oil - that works a treat too :T I've always had a terribly oily complexion, but in my old age am getting quite a dry forehead and cheeks - this little (very simple and inexpensive) regime sorts me out nicely! :T And it smells good too :j :j
Rough night here - up for what felt like ages coughingLots of nose blowing too, which I'm hoping means it's on its way out - surely there can't be many more symptoms?? Head still banging and resisting all attempts at a cure - think it's all the coughing
Trying to avoid too much screen-looking-at...
So far today I've cleaned the kitchen, got dressed, and cleaned a load of dog sh*t off my shoe that had also managed to get onto the kitchen chair before I noticed it - last night just thought it was mud, so didn't do much to it, but Mr Daffs brought me a cup of tea in bed this morning and informed me that it was poo. Great morning so far! :rotfl:
PhD now, and trying to get my head into gear for going to work tomorrow. I haven't been since last WEdnesday, good job really as I've been in no fit state, but haven't had to take a day off sick because I wasn't meant to be going in until tomorrow anyway. Funny how that works out - normally I would have been in on Monday.
Hope you're feeling better and presentation goes ok today cherisong xx0 -
Aw that cold is persistent isn't it? Maybe you should try the garlic and honey!

Hello All
Gosh Cheery hope your cold clears up quickly.
I bought a book from one of those people that brings books round the office, it was based on a TV series - grow your own drugs I think?! Not tried anything yet but was thinking of making soap or soemthing for Xmas gifts.
My flight back was a nightmare, a delay of 4 hours due to fog turned into an unexpected flight to Mumbai and a final delay of 12 hours so didnt' land until Sunday morning.
Still was good to get home and I managed to make the most of the rest of the day and got the washing done, went to the supermarket and then made a few things to keep me going for lunches and dinners in the week.
However....I also received my credit card bill - £750 :eek::eek: I had anticipated a bill of around £300:o due to wildly optimistic adding up and guesswork!!
I also owe my folks some money so feel like I'm going to need a proper debt busting plan.
I think I might start my own diary......perhaps that will keep me on the straight and narrow again!
Oh yes, and you have achieved a lot in the four weeks that I've been gone away - you have managed to get your head around your PhD and the work required and have worked out a manageable and workable plan to do the work....and are sticking to it!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0
