Mixed opinions on electric toothbrushes then! Shan't be shelling out for one just yet - although might experiment with new heads for Mr Daffs' existing one. Hmm. I've heard about the bicarbonate of soda stuff KC - you can use that stuff for everything :rotfl: I've actually got bicarbonate of soda toothpaste at the minute - tastes vile and doesn't seem to have made a bit of difference :o Thanks for the advice! :T

Well, I'm blatantly not up to scratch yet - spent the entire afternoon lying on the sofa with hot water bottle, watching Harry Potter :D And now I've just toddled up to bed out of the way of the gentlemen's evening :rotfl: I really hope I feel better tomorrow - KC I think you're wise feeling good about feeling better than yesterday, but I really don't have long left to do this PhD now  Ah well, I can't work in this state :o I guess as long as I'm alright to go back to work on Wednesday, and preferably before, then I can't really complain...

Right then, quick pootle round the forums I think, then curl up with my book and a cough sweet - gosh, don't I know how to live?? :rotfl:

Bleurgh, I am SO bored of being poorly now :( Coughing and spluttering, and my head and neck hurt SO much (partly all the coughing I think) :( Poor old Mr Daffs had to go and sleep in the attic again last Night I was coughing so much :(

Going to venture downstairs to see what kind of debris the 'gentlemen's evening' left last night  wish me luck! :rotfl:

Tis indeed KC, haven't been this poorly in a long time!

Well, i've cleared the debris from the gentlemen's evening - not too bad all told, few empty beer bottles and cans, couple of empty whisky bottles (nearly emptied the couple of inches of a bottle of single malt down the sink along with the dregs of beer - caught myself just in time :rotfl:).

<snip> Just deleted a huge detailed rant about recycling/me being the only person in the house who ever takes the rubbish out - felt good writing it, but it probably doesn't need to be out in the world for all to see! :rotfl:

Anyway, considering I feel sufficiently well enough to get on my high horse and complain about recycling, I'm probably well enough to attempt some PhDing :rotfl: First though - a shower - not managed one for days as I haven't been able to stand up for that long  (i *have* had a couple of baths though, don't worry! :rotfl:) Then I need to venture to the shops for some milk, as the Gentlemen appear to have devoured almost 4 pints of milk yesterday evening  I know they're a bunch of heavy tea drinkers, but still!

And if, after all that excitement, I can still function, then I'll set to work. Got the house to myself today as Mr Daffs is helping a friend on a craft stall - quite jealous really, but I'm in no fit state to be standing outside for 6 hours!

I'm starting the Locked Food Cupboard system today, I've just decided :D Bought 4 bananas yesterday - came down this morning hoping to have one with some weetabix for breakfast, and not only do we not have any milk - we also don't have any bananas. The museli we bought for me to take to work on Wednesday has all gone (admitedly that was partly me as I couldn't stomach anything else the other day), and I'd REALLY like some honey to sooth my throat, but I know if it goes in the cupboard it'll be gone in about 3 days and I can't justify the expense! :(

However, right now I am fed up of eating what hasn't already been demolished! I'd quite like my choice of food to be dictated by what I fancy (within reason and within what I can afford, of course), rather than by what I think will last long enough for me to get some of! Might decant half of everything to put in the normal cupboard, but when it's gone and I've still got some left, I won't be handing any of it over.

    Off to find a padlock <laughs evilly>

is the Locked Food cupboard system as simple as locking a cupboard? i think OH needs to lock our cupboards so i can't eat all their contents and i can actally lose some weight.

Haven't got a system yet LT! I was thinking literally a picnic basket with a padlock - purely because we have a LOT of picnic baskets :rotfl:

Hi DedicatedDFW :j No online pattern for the teacosy I'm afraid (although there's plenty of them around I'm sure!) The one I have is an ancient paper copy Mr Daffs rescued from a skip donkeys years ago :rotfl: (he does that often!). Happy to post you a photocopy if you PM me your address, or alternatively I'm sure you can find a lovely one on the internet somewhere! :T

KC, it'll go down absolutely fine - he knows full well he's a naughty little fiend eating all the fruit and nice things before I can get my sticky paws on them :rotfl: Remember we talked about the fruit cage last week?? :D This is just an extension of that :D :rotfl:

Anyway, didn't get round to it, because got a phone call from him that they'd sold the star piece at the craft fair before the stall had even opened :T and could I possibly nip to the local cafe and pick up the spare one?? So, feeling a little better, I did, and took it down to them at the fair. Had a lovely time actually, bit of fresh air, few different faces (and bumped into a few friends). Picked up a bit of food on the way home, and just got in!

Still coughing, and rather nippy, but don't feel any worse for my little adventure :T

Just going to have something to eat, hang the washing up, then see how I feel...
