Wow makeup, sounds like some fab wildlife spotting :T And how lovely to make some new friends! :j And elephant bath time! Soooo jealous :rotfl: Hope you got lots of lovely photos. Are you on your way home tomorrow then?? Have you really been away for a month??!! Can't believe it! Wonder what on earth useful I've done in all that time??!! :rotfl:
Still not done anything hereWell, had a bath, which was very nice, especially since I didn't have to run it
And now I'm sat on the sofa
PhD is next to me, had high hopes of doing a tiny bit, but I'm not sure I can even manage that, head just feels like mashed potato, skin crawling every time I touch it, and I just want to be back to sleep again
I'm just a bit disappointed because I SO wanted to get these four chapters done by Sunday night - it would have been the first time I'd handed anything in on time for ages! :rotfl: and I would have done it too if I could have worked yesterday and todayBah!
However, i think another evening of complete rest is in order, followed by another good night's sleep, and hopefully I'll be fighting fit again by tomorrow, fingers crossed... At least I might get another one chapter done, perhaps a bit more... and a few days extra really isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Must remember what you keep saying KC - health is FAR more important than anything else... daft old PhD led (maybe indirectly) to thyroid going haywire last year, and while this is only a cold, I DO NOT want to push it and turn it into anything else! :eek:0 -
Hugs cheery - listen to KC she's right - health very important
Makeup - wow!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

**KC is wise**
**KC knows**
**unfortunately, KC has ignored this wisdom for the last 30 years**

you be kind to yourself too KC!
Well, I'm taking it as a good sign that I was awake half the night tossing and turning and coughingI was actually BORED of being in bed by 7.30 this morning - also a good sign :rotfl: Still feeling a little shakey, but then I've hardly eaten anything for a couple of days so not surprising really!
And got a banging headache - possibly all the coughing??
So, the plan for today is to take it easyLaze about with a cuppa for an hour or so, then get dressed, and I *might* venture to the WI. It's only 5 minutes walk, and I haven't been out of the house since Wednesday, so a little fresh air wouldn't go amiss! I was meant to be going to a french music evening tonight, but I think I'll have to call that off sadly
Might be able to get a little work done this afternoon though :T
Mr Daffs is having a 'gentleman's evening' here tonight :rotfl: not entirely sure what that involves! but I shall be making myself scarce one way or another!
Have a good one whatever you're up toxx

I agree, I think its a sign of recovery when you start to get bored
and if the WI is only five minutes away in *reality*, then thats probably a good idea too. Stay away from anybody else with the lurgy tho! And definitely make yourself scarce during a gentlemen's evening :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: god knows what he's got lined up

Well, I made it to the WI! :T :T And home again (all uphill on the way home, so that took nearer 15 minutes )
I even managed to do the washing up this morning! :T
Feeling a bit wiped out now though after all the activity :rotfl: Mr Daffs has gone upstairs for a nap (that man has more naps than you can shake a stick at! :rotfl: I'm just jealous really - oh the joys of not having to go to work and being able to sleep whenever you like :rotfl:). Anyway, just about to ensconce myself on the sofa for a little while to recover from the morning's excitement
It *is* nice to feel a little more perky though, even if not up to scratch properly yet
Slightly out of the blue question... do any of you know much about electric toothbrushes? Or have one? I've got rather a stain on one of my front teethI assume from drinking too much tea!
My teeth have never been in great condition
(something I'm perpetually embarrassed about, as it kind of feels like some kind of moral failing
) Was just thinking about it because one of my teeth started hurting again last night, and I was having a good look this morning, and realised the stained one at the front looks awful, and some of the others are starting to be really rather yellow
I've NEVER smoked, I DO brush them, honestly! But just with ordinary cheapo toothbrush/paste. Mr Daffs swears by an electric toothbrush, although his charger is lost somewhere so he's not been using his for a while.
I'm partly a little paranoid because all my dad's teeth seem to have fallen out   - he's just got one left at the bottom that sticks out over his lip  And he's only 52!   (have to keep reminding myself he's smoked like a chimney for most of his life, and probably never been to the dentist, and never eats any kind of vegetable or fruit AT ALL - so he's probably got scurvy )

Do you have a "99p stores" anywhere near you Daffs? They usually have Pearl Drops toothpastes in and I swear by those - although the Arm & Hammer Advance White are also excellent and can usually be found in Poundland. You get that "squeaky clean" feel from those too which is nice. I have used an electric toothbrush in the past but have reverted back to a standard one these days. I seem to recall noticing that Poundland have battery powered ones in from time to time if you wanted to get a cheapy just to try it out.
Glad to hear you're feeing a bit more on the mend now - expect to have the cough and general coldy symptoms lingering for a while to come though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've got an electric toothbrush and i could never go back to the normal ones. I love it, gives my teeth a great clean in much less time. I think most years they are half price this time of year, often in the supermarkets which is surprising.
glad you're feeling a bit better. I'm always amazed how much my OH can sleep but the really annoying thing is when he finally decides to get up then he's up and dressed and raring to go whilst on a weekend i seem to get up earlier than him but potter around and go online in my nightie. Then when he gets up it's like i've been lazing and doing nothing.0 -
Cheery, my hygienist advised me to dab my toothbrush into bicarbonate of soda twice a week and brush with that - thats mostly whats in the expensive toothpastes anyway .... much cheaper, much easier.
And people are right about electric toothbrushes, tho mine died a while ago and I haven't replaced it yet ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
