:hello: You still don't sound well, even tho you're on the go again - I've relapsed *very* slightly cos of being without heat during the day, and no proper meals, with the electricians here - and of course nowhere to lie down, they kept testing every plug and finding stuff wrong
I *am* on the mend and you *are* too
makeup - such a trek you had! glad you managed to do the basics over the weekend, and I hope you're sleeping off the jetlag okay.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Poor you KC, sorry you're having a slight blip, but you're right, you *are* on the mend :j :j
No proper meals here eitherJust eating oatcakes and cheese for tea - same as for dinner
But Mr daffs is teaching now, and then I'm going straight out after that to al anon meeting. Ah well.
Very much in need of a meeting tonight!Feeling rather low and grumpy, and not been able to settle to PhD today for several reasons I can't really go into on here, but feeling rather bad about it
In work tomorrow (yes, I'll be taking the bus for all of the relevant bits! And getting a flexible train ticket so I'm not tied to staying there til 5pm if I feel rotten!), so I'm hoping it'll do me good to get out of the house for the day and concentrate on something else, see some different people.
And hopefully normality will be restored by the time I get home again, *really* hoping this is just temporary
I'm sure I'll feel better after the meeting, but right now I'm feeling really rather glum indeed and about to cry at any minute!0 -
**hugs***

Hi Cheery, you sound like you need a big hug. I just wondered if it might be worth going to the Dr? The reason that I ask is because several years ago I had been feeling a bit rough for several weeks, tickly cough, cold and general tiredness and sore throat. I put it down to a lingering cold and being run down as my Dad was very ill at the time. Anwyay, the cough got worse and started keeping me awake at night. Sounds a bit like you. I eventually went to the DR when I was sent home from work as being useless. Turned out that I had tonsillitis and I needed antibiotics. Had I not gone when I did the Dr suggested that it would have escalated to septic tonsillitis. I am thinking that your symptoms sound similar and MG has been on antibiotics for tonsillitis which it turned out she had on the day of the workshop that you went to. Sorry to be a downer but I do want you to take care of yourself. I was ill from November to January in the end because I ignored it and you dont want your Christmas trip to be spoiled do you? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Thanks for the hugs cherisong
Don't think it's tonsilitis, had that in the last few years (my tonsils GREW BACK after having them out when I was 7 - how weird is that?? ) Haven't got a sore throat at all now, just a rotten cough and a runny nose. I'll see how I feel on Thursday after working tomorrow. Thanks for your concern though :T
And pippi - practice saying NO - you can do fun stuff for no pay after your own stuff is written up - first things first girl!
Right, best go to meeting, no excuse for being late today0 -
So sorry it is taking a while for you to recover. Take care and look after yourself.
Just caught up but have to say that I have never smoked but have also never had the best of teeth either and been using Pearl Drops Smokers toothpaste from the pound shop. It has been really effective - also used Pearl Drops Smokers Mouthwash, also from the pound shop and it makes your mouth feel as though you have been to the dentist. I do use an electric toothbrush - think they may be half price in Boots at the moment0 -

No indeed - but I've also got a PhD to finish before my holiday   <deep breaths, stay calm> :rotfl: :rotfl:Hi Cheery, you sound like you need a big hug. Gosh, sounds like you were proper ill cherisongWas in a bit of a rush earlier, so probably didn't make much sense, but I'm 99% sure I don't have tonsilitis (thankfully,it's vile!). No sore throat at all (although I did have for a day or so), just blowing nose a lot, and a cough that was tickly and is now rather chesty
So I think really just ordinary cold, it just wiped me out quite a bit! But I will see how I get on tomorrow, and keep an eye on it if it starts getting worse rather than better. You're right - I do NOT want Christmas to be spoiled
Thanks for the toothpaste tip TDQ! :T Will keep an eye out - and will investigate Boots too :T
Been to meeting, which cheered me up no end, and I've pretty much snapped out of my oh woe is me misery phase :rotfl: Food is made for work tomorrow, just need to dig out some non-iron clothes - I'll pop and do that in a minute
Then I'm going to quickly wash my hair because however much I don't want to do it now, I'll want to do it even less at 6.30 in the morning :rotfl: Then I'm going to curl up and go to sleep :T0 -
Hope you enjoyed your meeting.
Dont want to go on but I didnt have a sore throat as such, or rather I thought my throat was sore from the tickly cough which developed into a full on smokers cough (despite never having smoked). My brother and sister both had their tonsils taken out (didnt grow back though - how weird!) and I never really understood it, thought it was just a sore throat but no, it completely wiped me out. As soon as I told my brother I had it he described my symptoms perfectlyand that made me feel mean because I was always telling them to get on with it they only had a sore throat
My nephew suffers quite badly from poorly tonsils too.
I will also have to wash hair tonight because I am also up and out at 6.30 in the morning. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
another one here who should be washing her hair, i will get around to it i promise.
sorry to hear you're not feeling that great but it's good that work has helped improve things. Wish it was the same at my place.0
