I do indeed know what you mean EH! :D In fact, when I head off to Meadowhell at the weekend I might just not even bother asking them to fit me and just do it myself!

Anyway, I'm still here :D I've got laptop, two books and a training course folder on qualitative analysis, everything I need to plan/rewrite chapters 5,6,7 and 8 (although obviously that won't all get done tonight! :rotfl:). I also can't work solidly for 4+ hours (and don't know how long they'll go on for), so I've also got a book about making christmas presents, another one about running, and another about getting rid of PMS :D :rotfl: And LOTS of paper and coloured pens and pencils for plotting and planning for the 50 day challenge, and the new year :j

Since we were meant to be leaving at 7, I've been ready for the last 20 minutes. Mr Daffs is still in PJs. So in the last 20 mins I've done the washing up, tidied the kitchen, straightened the living room, made the bed, put the washing away, put all the clothes away off the bedroom floor, made a hot water bottle to take with me, and found an old towel to mop up the rain that's seeped in through the bedroom window  :rotfl:

Must be either sickening for something or hormonal - not usually this productive! :rotfl: I find when I'm ready and he's not is usually a good time to get all those niggly little household jobs done :D Far more productive than sitting getting cross and tapping feet! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Quite excited about my evening now! :j :j

Cheery you do make me smile. Loving that you were busy and Mr D still in PJs. I find OH is much the same he suggest we do something and I get ready then 2 hours later he is still faffing. It used to irritate me, now I am used to it I do much as you do, get ready and then do my own stuff. The funniest thing is when he is ready it is all in a flurry and takes me by surprise every time so he thinks that I take ages getting ready.

That's what happens here cherisong :rotfl: I'm ready, wait ages and ages, find something else to do, and all of a sudden he's standing at the door tapping his feet :rotfl:

KC - no idea why my light was on at 8pm, I was in the car!

Had a lovely productive evening actually! :j :j :j And it did do Mr Daffs good to be out and about :T Got a lovely plan done for the rest of the PhD (!), transferred it all to my diary, planned the next week or so in detail, and devised a plan to get me through today with all the things I have to do according to the bigger plan :T

Also got my pink sparkly pen out and started scribbling on my copy of my previously submitted thesis - avoided doing this, feeling like I should somehow keep it for posterity, but now they're charging for printing, I'm using it as a draft to scribble on! :rotfl:

Oooh, and on that note - supervisors said they'd print out my thesis for me for free :D (and anything else I want printing in the meantime!) :D:D So that's about £40 saved :j :j Still have to pay to bind it, of course, and the resubmission fee, but still! :D

    Right, best crack on!
  • Wow you have really made progress in a day! You sound like you really know what you're doing now. And I LOVE the scribbling with a pink sparkly pen on your thesis :D Hope today is productive :)

  • The only thing better than a pink sparkly pen for scribbling with would be a PURPLE sparkly pen! :D

Brilliant progress there last night then - glad you managed to make such a good use of your evening.

Pssssst, Cheri - they do the last-minute flurry thing deliberately so that they can then tell people that they were waiting on you being ready. It's like the thing of asking you to repeat what you've said? It's actually buying them thinking time, they heard you perfectly well the first time! :rotfl:

I agree EH - but I can't remember what I did with the purple one! :D And actually, in my case, the purple one isn't quite as sparkly as the pink one, and it's kind of a pinky purple anyway, so all good :D

Anyway, just quickly popped on with exciting news! Was over on MG's thread, setting out how I'm going to rewrite an entire chapter today :D Cutting a slightly waffling story short, she's offered to let me go on tomorrow's course and pay after Christmas when I start full time work :D Soooo excited!

Feels a little weird - I never would have asked (in fact it never even occurred to me - I just thought I'd go on one next year, didn't even think about this one at all cos can't justify the money right now, but I'd never said that!). And I feel slightly strange borrowing from myself in the future, if you see what I mean... BUT - given that this will very much help the PhD, and given that it was freely offered, and given that I will actually be more than doubling my wages, just this once, I've said yes :D

So now I HAVE to get this chapter done today, and the one I was going to do tomorrow started too, because I'll be off at stupid o clock to be trained in study and memory techniques by the world champion mind mapping person (or whatever it is that she is!) SOooo excited - and meeting more MSE-ers too! :j :j (obvioulsy that's the most exciting bit :rotfl:)

    Right - MUST concentrate!
  • Thats lovely news cheery :D have fun and all the best :D xxx

Really hope you enjoy tomorrow anyway! :j
