Yep Squizz - Meadowhell is NOT somewhere I'd voluntarily go! :rotfl: Might walk there along the canal - that might make it more bearable :D (although goodness knows what muddy sweaty state I'd be in when I got there! Might walk home instead :D

New Look don't go anywhere near my size sadly hanb! And M&S lost me years ago after making me cry as a 16 year old :o

    Ah well, onwards and upwards!

Don't know where the morning's gone! Did Shred, had a shower, ar*ed around with Mr Daffs' phone for a while, went out invalid food shopping, and just eating lunch. Meeting is at 2pm, and I haven't done an ounce of preparation yet!

And there seems to be rather a lot of water soaking into the (not painted) windowsill in the bedroom  But it seems to have been vaguely like that for ages (possibly years) so another afternoon won't make a difference. I swear, when I start working full time, one of the first things I'm going to do (after bras :D) is sort out all the stupid niggly DIY related house things that haven't been done for YEARS (literally YEARS) - plastering the bedroom ceiling, for example, getting someone to paint the walls, putting in a proper windowsill, getting a new front door fitted (the existing one is an *internal* door, with the handle falling off, that is slowly rotting from the bottom up - I'd like to be able to open it to get into the garden!)

Mr Daffs is generally of the opinion (which I usually share) that it's better to do these things yourself than just throwing money at them. However, I've known him for 5 years now, and none of these things have even been contemplated - and he's lived here for 20 years, and not contemplated them much in that time, so I'm thinking it's time to step in myself!

Right - best crack on into efficiency mode for an hour!

The only thing which has tempted me to even think about going to Meadowhell recently is the L'Occitane shop - I decided I'd rather pay the online delivery charge though!

I decided I'd rather pay delivery too Squizz! :) However, I'd rather NOT pay £3.45 delivery, plus the same to return the not fitting ones, plus the same again to order a new pair! So Meadowhell it is <shudder>

food for an invalid (as INvalid, ill person, not inVALID, person who is not valid :D)

In our case - rye bread, tinned peaches, and strawberry yogurt :rotfl: :rotfl:

Trying to prepare for meeting, and stumbling against daft university nonsense. Apparently only internal examiner will be reading thesis, and will sign off before I officially submit. However, officially, he's not supposed to see it at all before I submit. And the university will be sending a copy to the external whether he wants one or not, and he's going to have to sign it off, or I won't get anything. All seems a bit dodgy to me - why isn't the external taking part?? (I'm glad he's not, don't get me wrong, but still!). Would rather it was all above board, going to try and find out....

Right, I'm back. Gosh it's soooo blustery out there! Got absolutely soaked and buffetted about :rotfl:

2 hour meeting, and we covered everything I wanted to cover :j No thanks to daft supervisors, who kept ambling away from the topic to moan about the head of dept/lack of promotion/examiner/examination process/school holidays etc etc :rotfl: Still, all sorted now, and we've got a plan that *will* get me finished in time :j :j Darn hard work though!

SO - 50 day plan will be updated in the morning with what needs doing

Just trying to decide what to do tonight. Three options:

    (1) Original plan was to go to a european music/dancing session, I've been meaning to go for a while, but not made it. It's in town, so a good 30 mins walk each way. Free though :T But I'm really rather tired...

    (2) stay at home, bit of tidying, and an early night :D

    (3) Mr Daffs was originally planning to go and do some recording stuff with some friends tonight. He's not been very well, but has really perked up today, and would rather like to go this evening. I think it'll do him good - been stuck in the house for several days, and it'll distract him. However, it's 45 mins drive each way, and I think that'll wear him out. Sooo option 3 is that I offer to drive him there, then sit upstairs in the cosy little flat with my laptop (but NO internet!) and get a few hours of work done :T There's also a bed, so I can get a couple of hours kip too :D

Partly depends how he feels, feel like I *should* go to the dance thing, but I'm just not in the mood ,and it'll be on again...

So *you* made the meeting go well! Good for you, Cheery :) And you're so good at using your evenings too - you obviously don't fancy the dance thing, not tonight anyway ... I can't tell which of the others you'd rather have.

To be honest KC, I couldn't decide either :D So I did what I do in these situations - let the universe decide :D

Well - what I did was told Mr Daffs that I was *considering* offering to drive him, and asked if he thought he was well enough to go, and would appreciate being driven, and would get enough out of it. We talked, he said yes, so that's what we're doing :T

Productive, helpful, and quiet all in one :D With a little bit of socialising thrown in if I fancy it, and some getting out and about for Mr Daffs. Good result I say! :j :j (and no, I didn't really fancy the dancing, not tonight :o)

Anyway, so that's me offline for the rest of the evening - eek! xx
  • Daffs, the ONLY bras that fit me are Freya ones, and I've never yet had a bra fitting that ended up in me buying a bra of the size I was told I needed. I now work on the basis that I know the rules about how they should fit, so I just make sure that I get one that does, if you know what I mean! :rotfl: Like Cherisong I usually stage a raid on Debenhams at 70% off time.
