oooh daffs enjoy your swinging..... sorry swing dancing night, I hope you have a lovely time.

And that blog! Oh my word. She's amazing. Thats what a blog is. Thats "my people".2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
oooh I've just read the blog too, how true! I love it, thank you.0

Glad you like the cheery blog
It's one I've been reading for a while, not quite sure why or where I found her, but I am rather taken with her can do attitude
Swing night was bizarre - only had one dance! Proper sit down affair, with waiters, asked for a diet coke on the way in and was told they only had Jubilee Sunset or Ginger and Lime Fizz :rotfl: But a nice chat with friend, and met a couple of other folk, one of whom does Roller Derby, which seems to involve getting dressed up in padded outfits and roller skating AT each other??! :rotfl:
Anyway, it was all over by 10, so I walked back up the hill in the rain, chatting to friend in Scotland who has just stupidly got together with a woman who lives in Norfolk :rotfl: Not quite the furthest away he could have managed in the UK, but not far off! :rotfl:
Everything's right with the world todayWell, with my little world at least
Had a revelation on the way home - I do actually feel like a love struck teenager, like one of the ones people write songs about, little birds twittering round my head and everything, singing away to myself :rotfl: Poor old Mr Daffs! Not sure quite why this has struck me right now, normally I'm not soppy at all! :rotfl:
Anyway, hot chocolated now and ready for bed0 -

Oi, what's wrong with women who live in Norfolk.......huh......huh!!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Oh Daffs, how lovely! Mind you, after that Norfolk comment, I think Hypno might jump down the phone line at you :rotfl: so make the most of the tweety pies :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Sorry Hypno! :rotfl: It wasn't that she lived in Norfolk in itself - more that he lives further north than Inverness, so they'd need pretty much a week off work each just to spend a day together! :rotfl:
(of course, all women who live in Norfolk are beautiful, sohpisticated and ever so much fun, so I can see why he went for her!)0 -
oooh Daffs you say the nicest things, a fellow norfolker here:D ***waves over the fence at Hypno***0

Now then, here we are on a VERY rainy Sunday morning, buzzing with energy and enthusiasm and ideas! :j :j Plans for today include helping someone on their allotment for a couple of hours through the LETS scheme (in this RAIN! Goodness me!), and getting my PhD chapter in a good enough state to print off tomorrow :T
I've also been having a think about sewing and selling things, which is something I've been thinking about for a while, but which got put on the backburner because of this silly PhD malarkey. But with all this enthusiasm floating around MG's thread, and here, and lots of other people doing stuff too, I might make a tentative start :T Because it's only a start, right!
So... I was thinking yesterday, and last night, and this morning, and for lots of weeks, and I'm going to start with the bunting idea :j Well, Mr Daffs' idea of Boudoir Bunting, to be specific:rotfl: I don't want it to get out of hand and take over time I need for PhD! So I'm not really announcing this as such, more a little tenative step... I started cutting up some fabric yesterday, and had a vague idea, and started playing about with sewing it together. So the plan is a few strings of Boudoir Bunting (:rotfl:), all made from repurposed clothing/fabric/lace etc :j What do you think?? :j
First one's going to be started on the train to London on Tuesday :T
And I thought what I might do is have a little mini giveaway/raffle type thing on the cheery old clogPossibly. We'll see. Because I can't bring myself to *sell* the first one
And because my mate who makes coloured glass hangings is having a spot of trouble bringing himself to market himself at the minute, I thought I'd have a bit of a mini giveaway/raffle type thing for one of his pieces too, in the spirit of spreading good cheery and friendly helpfulness around the world :j
What do you think??
Must dash, busy making heart shaped anniversary-of-pancake (Oh NOOOOoo! NOT anniversary of pancake!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Good grief, see where my mind is???? Anniversary of meeting mr daffs!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway, making heart shaped pancakes0 -
Two words........
