If they've only been in business since March or whatever, then there are probably very few people who have received their orders yet, as most of them will still be on a boat somewhere in between China and the UK.

To be honest I am willing to believe this site is legit and the orders really are going to take 3-4 months to arrive. But I think they won't last long if they don't start saying that up front - too many people will cancel their orders and they'll get a bad reputation. It's bad enough as it is. If I had known it would be low priority shipping I would definitely have reconsidered and probably not have ordered in the first place. It is too long to wait for me.

I believe the procedure for cancelling orders is to email sales@elitesavings.co.uk with your order number (just reply to your sales confirmation email) saying you would like to cancel. This is what I have now done. I guess you will get back 92.1% of your money less 50p as explained on the "conditions of use" page on their site.

@PFC200
sorry that should be forums.moneysavingexpert etc etc
But here's a quote:
they do do the deal. they are just being difficult about it. there is a long thread elsewhere about this deal on a few other forums. think there was one about this on the HotUKDeals forums about the £285 desire for existing O2 customers. loads of people have bought this deal. on those forums there is advice on the key words to use when you call and how to negotiate to get this deal. the key is not to say upgrade etc or even PAC code. the key is to say i want to buy a phone out right and am an existing customer and would like to buy the htc desire for 285£ offered to existing customers. say you dont want a new contract as you already have a contract and just want to buy the phone, i am told they had stock. if they refuse then ask to speak to manager or complaints section. best of luck. even existing monthly rolling contacts customeres i think called simplicity have managed to buy at this price on this deal.

extract from HUKD forums. for this O2 deal.
""Phone 202 - press option 2, option 2 and then finally the third option 2 for the 'if you're thinking of leaving o2'
DO NOT CALL SALES OR UPGRADES - YOU MUST CALL THROUGH TO 202, opt 2, opt 2 and opt 2."

"When you get through say you would like to buy a HTC desire for £285 - do not mention your renewal, don't mention upgrades."" people seem to have got this deal on the 19th as well.
edit: You are likely to receive an O2 locked phone but since I am already on O2 that is of little consequence.

I have e-mailed elite savings also asking for an estimated delivery date.

Heard nothing as yet.

Would Moneybookers intervene if necessary?

Think I will probably cancel too.

Got mail from ELITESAVINGS sales team that if i would like to cancel my order they are happy to refund the money back ,but 7.9%+50p will be charged from moneybookers.
IS there anyway that the moneybooker charges can be avoided?????

Any suggestion ????

I have received an email this morning from Elite Savings confirming the cancellation of my order. My status now is that the refund is due within 3 business days.

I personally doubt there is a way around that 7.9% charge unless you can prove Elite Savings are not intending to send you anything, or they go out of business...?

On the bright side, in about 3 months you will hopefully receive a cheap bit of kit in the mail, which you can eBay for profit if by that time you have already got one.

Edit: micron, If you never receive anything (you should be able to track your order after it finishes 'processing' i.e. when the 15-day delivery cycle turns around, giving you some semblance of a delivery estimate) or if they DO go out of business before your order arrives, you have buyer protection on your credit card - just click the link up at the top o fthis site that says "Section 75". Then at least you'll avoid that 7.9% :)

Also also, if you are going to cancel, do try to cancel ASAP as if they ship it from the supplier before you cancel they will charge you an extra 20% to cancel it.

This is the reply I got from them:

Hi Peter

It's on target to be dispatched outbound from our supplier on the 19th, precisely 15 business days after you placed the order, so from then on, orders normally take 7 days to arrive to you once customs have cleared them.

Regards,

Online Assistance

I may give them the benefit of the doubt and wait and see..........
