In that case then Scaz, your best bet is to buy it then in 2 months time when you receive it you can come back on here and give a gushing review of how Elite are possibly the greatest company ever to advertise on the internet and you have no connection with them whatsoever. Honest.

Well thanks for that helpful comment, i'm not promoting the site, i'm not telling anyone to use it and to be honest I won't use it myself until I know that others have and it is fine because I think it's too good to be true. If anyone does have some useful comments please share.

I have emailed the site and requested a copy of the contract you have to sign to see what their response is and what it is exactly they expect you to sign but whether they send it before payment I don't know but I'll post back when I get a response.

I have heard you can get it direct from google and they will ship it from America but then you are stung with taxes, high delivery charges and so on.

I definately am going to get this phone though so when I find the best deal I'll let you know.

OK here's an update then of what I emailed and the response I got:

(I've just copied and pasted so their reply is obviously first)

    Hi

    Thanks for your email.

It does not state anywhere on our website or in our t&c's that a
contract is to be signed prior to delivery, or at any stage for that
    matter.

    Kind Regards,

    Online Assistance Team

So they were quick in responding and they are right, there is no mention of a contract on their site, so they must have changed it since the original post.

Anyway their email wasn't very informative or helpful, I thought they might have tried to convince me in some way that they are a legitimate company.

    Think I'll avoid.

I don't know what it is with this forum but people shouldn't post unless they have something useful to say/share and maybe the idiots are people like mr. savage that don't know what they are talking about.

To buy the Nexus One from Google you can go to:
    http//www. google.com/phone

(you need to remove the space between www. and google, and there needs to be a : after http, sorry I can't post links because i'm a new user)

Right I've just been there and Google are selling it for $529.00 with the current exchange rate that is £357.49 (pretty good price if you ask me) not sure how much import tax and delivery charge is though. . .

Hey fellas, I did a google search on the company number published on the elitesavings website (7192771, listed in the faqs section) and the company address from the google search and from their own website appears to match; I guess someone living in London can pay them a visit and see if they're legit or not?

Here's the address btw: Gadget Brokers LTD, 1st Floor, 2 Woodberry Grove, North Finchley, London N12 0DR

Also, the company seemed to have only been registered on 17th March 2010, so that might explain why barely anyone has heard of them before

I did a little bit of detective work...

Firstly I tried googlestreetmapping the post code... I recommend following the following link (remove spaces) and taking a little afternoon virtual stroll with me down this lovely leafy street of North London:
    http : // maps. google. co. uk / maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=51.611381,-0.178699&spn=0,0.01929&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=51.611437,-0.178797&panoid=SZ_SWxigOzwW5itZi9Ao2w&cbp=12,142.08,,0,5
You will find that the first building on the even-numbered (right) side of the road is "300 Ballards Lane" which is a side entrance to a legitimate insurance brokers. Navigate your way down the road (towards and to the right of the homebase lorry) and you'll pass a little blue-roofed church on the right. I presume the CEO of Elite Savings must spend a lot of time in deep prayer here because, wandering further down the road, the next building on the right is a row of 4 terraced houses named 6a to 6d.... suggesting a) that number 4 Woodberry Grove does not exist, and more importantly b) that number 2 Woodberry Grove (the registered address of Elite Savings) is in fact Finchley Christian Spiritualist Church!!

Also, if you try Googlemapping "2 Woodberry Grove, Barnet":
http : // maps. google .co. uk/ maps?hl=en&q=2%20Woodberry%20Grove,%20Barnet&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl (remove spaces)
.... you'll find a list of other companies registered at this address from an incredibly eclectic range of business types, all with rather dubious looking websites!

Without even a hint of sarcasm, I would have no hesitation in putting my full trust in this company. I would perhaps suggest purchasing 3 or 4 different really expensive items from their website, each time using a different debit card so that Elite Savings have as many of your financial details as you can possibly give them. I have no doubt they will use these details in a wholly responsible and legal manner. Good luck with that one!!

    store.apple.com/uk/ipad it is then!! :D

    Best wishes,
    Jim
